Setting and meaning of shmmax parameters in Linux-Linux general technology-Linux programming and kernel information. For details, refer to the following section. The shmmax Kernel Parameter defines the maximum value of a single shared memory segment. If this parameter is set to a smaller value than the Oracle SGA setting, SGA will be allocated with multiple shared memory segments. This may be a performance burden in a busy system and cause system problems.

In Linux, the default value of this parameter is usually 32 M.
[Root @ neirong root] # more/proc/sys/kernel/shmmax
33554432

You can run the ipcs command to view the shared memory allocation under this setting. We can see that Oracle has allocated multiple shared memory segments to meet the needs of SGA settings:
