Brief introduction
SQL Server Express is a free and Easy-to-use database product based on SQL Server 2005 technology designed to provide a very easy to use database platform that can be quickly deployed for its purposes. It is easy to use, first of all because it has a simple and reliable graphical user interface (GUI) installer that can guide users through the installation process. The free GUI tools included with SQL Server Express include: SQL Server Management Studio Express Edition (Technical Preview version available at startup), Surface area Configuration Tool and SQL Server Configuration Manager. These tools can simplify basic database operations. With the integration of Visual Studio projects, the design and development of database applications has also become simpler. In addition, I'll introduce the ability to deploy a database application by moving it, like moving a typical Windows file. Services and patching have also been simplified and automated.
SQL Server Express uses the same reliable, high-performance database engine as other SQL Server 2005 versions, and uses the same data access APIs (such as Ado.net, SQL Native Client, and T-SQL). In fact, it differs from other versions of SQL Server 2005 only in the following ways:
• Lack of enterprise-edition feature Support
• One CPU only
• Buffer pool memory limit of 1 GB
