Overview

In the design of a Microsoft Office Access (. MDB) database or Microsoft Office Access 2007 (. accdb) if the following conditions are met when the Microsoft Office infopath form template of the database is met, the Data Connection Wizard creates a data connection submission to the database.

• The form template is designed to be filled with infopath. If you use a web browser to fill in the form, the form cannot directly submit the data to the database. Form templates compatible with browsers(Browser-compatible form template: A form template designed in a specific compatible mode in infopath. When you publish a browser-compatible form template to a server running infopath Forms Services, this template is supported by the browser .)To submit data to the database, use the data connection that submits data to the Web service that cooperates with the database.
• The primary database tables used in the primary data connection contain primary keys, unique restrictions, or unique indexes.
• Any other database tables used with this primary data connection have a simple hierarchical relationship with the primary database tables.
• This database does not contain fields that can store large binary data types (slices, images, OLE objects, file attachments, office access remarks data types, or SQL text data types.

If the database meets these requirements, infopath will create a committed data connection and"Standard"Add on toolbar"Submit"Button at the same time on the form"File"Add"Submit"Command.

NoteSecondary data connections cannot submit data to the database. If you want to use the submitted data connection to the database as a secondary data connection, determine a web service that cooperates with the database, and then add the submitted data connection to the web service.

After the data submission connection is enabled, you can use the following methods to customize the submission options of the form template.

• Change in"Standard"On the toolbar"Submit"The text displayed on the button and changed"File"On the menu"Submit"Command.
• Change in"Standard"On the toolbar"Submit"In"File"On the menu"Submit"Command keyboard shortcut.
• Creates a custom message that is displayed when a user submits a form.
• Specify whether to open, close, or open another blank form after the form is submitted.

Step 1: Enable the data submission connection

1. In"Tools"Click"Data Connection".

2. In"Data Connection"In the dialog box, click master data connection, and then click"Modify".
3. In the data connection wizard, click"Next".
4. On the next page of the wizard, select"Enable submission for this connection"Check box, and then click"Done".

Step 2: configure the submit Option

After enabling the data connection submission, infopath"Standard"Add Toolbar"Submit"Button and"File"Menu Addition"Submit"Command. Infopath also configures the form based on this form template so that it displays a message to the form submitted by the user. This message indicates whether the form has been successfully submitted. By default, infopath keeps the form open after the user submits the form. To change"Submit"To view the text displayed on the button and what happens after the user submits the form, perform the following operations:

1. In"Tools"Click"Submit option".

To change the information displayed when the user fills out the form"Common"On the toolbar"Submit"The button name and"File"On the menu"Submit"Command name."Submit option"Dialog Box"Title"Enter a new name.

PromptIf you want to assign the keyboard shortcut to this button and command, type the "and" symbol (& amp;) before the character you want to use as the keyboard shortcut ;). For example, you must specify Alt + B"Submit"Keyboard shortcut for buttons and commands, enterSu & bmit.

2. If you do not want to use"Common"On the toolbar"Submit"Command or"Submit"Button, clear"Show submit menu items and submit menu bar buttons"Check box.

By default, after a user submits a form, infopath enables the form to be open and displays a message to indicate whether the form has been submitted successfully. To change the default behavior, click"Advanced"And then Perform one of the following operations:

• To close the form or create a new blank form after the user submits the completed form, go"After submission"Click the required option in the list.
• To create a custom message to indicate whether the form is successfully submitted, select"Use custom message"Check box, and then"When successful"And"Upon failure"Enter your message in the dialog box.

PromptUse"Upon failure"The message in the dialog box shows the operations performed when the form cannot be submitted. For example, you can suggest you save the form and contact someone for further instructions.

• if you do not want to display messages after the user submits a form, clear the show successful and failed messages check box.
