Rose HA 3107 installation process (Sybase)
Installation environment:
Two servers ("Server 1" and "Server 2", a full disk array cabinet, Sybase Database software, and Rose HA 3107 software .)
Installation Process:
1. Install Windows NT 4.0
(1) The SNMP and WINS services (Windows Internet Name Service) must be installed during NT4.0 installation ).
(2) install all drivers and configure the network.
(3) install services pack. (BOTH SP4 and SP5 are supported)
(4) In the Disk Manager of the two NT servers, check whether the drive letter of the volume of the database to be installed in the Cabinet is the same. The drive letter must be the same.
2. Install the Sybase Database
(1) create a sybase directory on a public disk, create data under it, and install two subdirectories.
(2) Disable Server 2 and install the Sybase Database on Server 1. During the installation process, install the program file on the local hard disk, install the library file on the cabinet, and then restart the computer.
(3) After installation, go to Sybase server config and delete the default SQL Server, backup server, and monitor server created during database installation.
(4) Delete the master. dat and sybprocs. DAT files in the Sybase \ data directory of the Public disk.
(5) Go to the server config of Sybase and create a new SQL server named pre-agreed virtual host name, the directory where the error log file is located is specified on the public volume of the Cabinet. Add \ PIPE \ Sybase \ query to the nlmsnmp Named Pipes driver option of network address, and add the virtual IP address and TCP/IP Port number to the IP port option of nlwnsck Winsock TCP/IP driver, the format is as follows: virtual IP address, 5000
(6) change the Error Log Path to the public disk path in config backup server. In network address, set the nlmsnmp Named Pipes driver option to \ PIPE \ Sybase \ backup, and the IP port option of nlwnsck Winsock TCP/IP driver to 5001.
(7) change the Error Log Path to the public disk path in config monitor server. In network address, the nlmsnmp Named Pipes driver option is \ PIPE \ Sybase \ monitor, and the IP port option of the nlwnsck Winsock TCP/IP driver is 5002.
(8) Disable Server 1 and install it on Server 2 according to the preceding steps. After the installation is complete, open the two servers. Stop all Sybase services on Server 2 and start Sybase services on Server 1 again to verify whether these services can be started. If it runs normally, perform the following steps. Otherwise, you must restore to normal before proceeding to the subsequent steps.
3. install and configure the Rose HA 3107 software.
(1) hardware Installation
Connect Server 1 and Server 2's COM1 ports with the RS232 serial line of Rose software
Note: We recommend that you use two heartbeat wires. If you want to establish a second heartbeat line through the network card, use the following method to connect.
1. Use a network cable to directly connect the NICS on the two servers.
2. Connect the NICS on the two servers through the hub.
If there is only one Nic on the server, you need to bind an IP address to the NIC for heartbeat connection.
(2) Software Installation
Go to the directory where the software is located on the CD, run the setup program, and install it by default. If you are prompted to enter the local and remote host names, enter the local server host names in the local column, enter the host name of another server in the remote field and enter the logon user password as prompted. Others are installed by default.
(3) create cluster resources
(1) Start the cluster administration tool. In the Tools menu, add the license and select the start button (the button is green ).
(2) In the private net menu, add the RS-232 line and select the COM1 port for connection. The transfer rate is-9600 by default. Then add the TCP/IP socket as the heartbeat line and select the corresponding IP address to connect. After the connection is successful, the two heartbeat lines between the two hosts are green on the private net administration interface. (Note: The heartbeat line must be set on both servers, and other resources only need to be set on one server .)
(3) Click resource objects to go to the resource administration page. Select volume from the create sub-menu in the resource menu. In the share volume column, select the public drive letter of the sybase database file in the inventory cabinet, select the create button, and click Close to exit. On the resource administration page, select volume to highlight it, and then click bring in. After bring in is successful, the host's resources are highlighted (for example,:), and the backup host's resources are green (for example :).
(4) use the same method to create an IP address and enter a virtual IP address in the Active IP address column. If multiple NICs exist, select the NICS to be used on the dual-host machine in the NIC column, select the IP address to be bound to the local machine in the original IP address column, and then click the Add button. Select the remote server in the server column, select the NIC and IP address, and click Add. After adding the file, click the create button. After creating the file, click Close to exit. On the resource administration page, select an IP address to highlight it, and then follow the (3) method to bring in.
(5) Create an alias name resource and enter the virtual shared host name in the computer alias name column. Click Create to exit. In the resource administration interface, select alias to highlight it, and then follow the (3) method to bring in.
(6) create a file share resource, select the shared volume of the database file in the file share column, and set volume, IP, alias items are added to the pre-requisite objects column, and then select the create button to exit. On the resource administration page, select File Share to highlight it, and then follow the (3) method to bring in.
(Note: In the following configuration process, set the virtual host name to "syb ")
(7) Create an NT services resource. In the list on the right, select Sybase sqlserver_syb to the NT Service column, and change the content in the object name column to Sybase sqlserver_syb. Add the File Share item in the available objects column to the pre-requisite objects column, select the create button, and exit. On the resource administration page, select Sybase sqlserver_syb to highlight it, and then follow the (3) method to bring in.
(8) Create an NT Services Resource, select Sybase monserver_syb from the list to the NT Service column, and change the content in the object name column to Sybase monserver_syb. Add the Sybase sqlserver_syb item in the available objects column to the pre-requisite objects column, select the create button, and exit. On the resource administration page, select Sybase monserver_syb to highlight it, and then follow the (3) method to bring in.
(9) Create an NT Services Resource, select Sybase bckserver_syb in the list, and change the content in the object name column to Sybase bckserver_syb. Add the Sybase monserver_syb item in the available objects column to the pre-requisite objects column, select the create button, and exit. On the resource administration page, select Sybase bckserver_syb to highlight it, and then follow the (3) method to bring in.
(10) You can select/cancel the automatic start cluster option in the Options menu. This option determines whether to start Rose HA when Windows NT starts.

5. Test Procedure
1. Normal manual switch.
2. The host is shut down normally, and the service is switched to the backup host.

4. Unplug the heartbeat line. (Normal phenomenon: the heartbeat line turns red and neither side can be switched .)
5. Shut down abnormally. (Normal: all services are switched to the standby server .)

Rose HA 3107 FAQs and Solutions
1. The dual-host software on both hosts has been started, and the resources on both hosts are in the virtual state. What should I do?
On the host that is scheduled to host the resource, make the resource highlighted. Click the bring in button on the toolbar.
2. Why is the Windows NT Service Pack used when installing Rose HA 3107?
Use Service pack4, service pack5 or above.
3. When installing the trial version of Rose HA 3107, the system prompts "the license is invalid" at startup. The dual-host service cannot be started. How can this problem be solved.
Go to the license item of the tool sub-menu in the main menu, and click "OK.

16. 3107 when the following conditions occur, the Standby server displays the volume of the host and reports an error. The Standby server switches the volume to the standby server.
