Prepare

1. Download the Ubuntu CD image file:

5. Planning partitions

1) Dual System:

If your computer has a Windows system and the hard disk has more than two partitions. You need to delete one of the 10 Gb partitions (preferably the last partition ),
Leave a part of unpartitioned hard disk space to install ubuntu. After Ubuntu is installed, the system will automatically create a menu for you to choose whether to start Windows or
Ubuntu.

To delete a partition in windows, follow these steps:
A) Move all files in the partition to another partition.
B) Right-click my computer and choose manage> disk management ". Or "Control Panel-management tools-double-click 'computer management'-storage-disk management ".
C) Right-click the partition to be deleted and select "delete logical drive ".

Partition size of two systems:
Swap swap space: the physical memory is less than or equal to 2 GB. The swap space is twice the physical memory size. If the physical memory is greater than 2 GB, the swap space is equal to the physical memory size.
/Partition: total free space capacity-swap space.

2) Single System:
If you decide to install only one Ubuntu operating system on your computer, we recommend that you divide it into three zones:
/Partition: 8-30g (generally 15g is enough );
Swap swap space: the physical memory is less than or equal to 2 GB, And the swap space is twice the physical memory size. If the physical memory is greater than 2 GB, the swap space is equal to the physical memory size;
/Home: all available space.

If your network speed is slow or you do not have a network, we recommend that you use Linux deepin or other customized Chinese versions for installation. Otherwise, there will be no Chinese Input Method after installation, and you cannot play common audio and video files.

I. Installation

1. Ubuntu
The CD image of 10.04 still does not contain the complete Chinese Language Pack and input method. If it is installed online, the installer will automatically download the language support file, and the 2 m ADSL Network speed only
It may take several minutes to complete the download. Therefore, it is recommended that you install the SDK in a networked environment.
Open the ADSL model and router before installation, and then start the computer with a CD or live USB.
Tip: you can press the F12, F9, and other function keys to start the device. For details about which key, refer to the instructions on the computer or follow the prompts on the screen when starting the device.

Drag the scroll bar on the left to the end, select "Chinese (simplified)", and click "Try Ubuntu 10.04 lts ".

If you use live USB to start the instance, you will not see the above picture. Select "default" in the Startup menu to go directly to the desktop.

If you are using a network cable, the network should have been automatically connected, and you can directly access the Internet by enabling Firefox.

If you are using a wireless network card, click the Network Manager icon on the left of the Speaker. A red exclamation mark indicates that the network is not connected.

Select an available wireless network.

After entering the wireless network password as prompted, you can quickly connect to the network. Then, the Network Manager icon does not have a red exclamation point.

Double-click the "Install Ubuntu 10.04 lts" icon on the desktop to install it.

Language selection: Chinese (simplified ). If you like to use other languages, you can do it yourself.

Region selection: The default value is "China (Chongqing)". I don't know why. I am in Shanghai, so I chose "China (Shanghai )".

Keyboard layout: use the "USA" recommended by the system.

Prepare disk space: Select "manually specify partition (advanced )".

If you want to install it on a new hard disk, you must first create a partition table ". Skip this step if an over-range hard disk has been created. Creating a partition table will erase
All data!

 

If your hard disk is not a brand new one, you don't need to create a partition table. Select "idle" Space and click "add.

Create a partition first: Select "primary partition" for "New partition type"; retain the default "start" for "New partition location"; and use "ext4"

Select "idle" Space and click "add.

Enter personal information:
"Your name" can contain any character except the colon (:) and comma (,), with spaces in the middle. After installation, you can modify the settings.
The "Login Name" is the user name to be entered during login at startup. It cannot be modified after installation. Only English letters, numbers, minus signs (-), and underscores (_) are allowed. spaces are not allowed in the middle. The first character must be English.
Letter. Note that it is case sensitive. We recommend that you use lowercase letters.
The password must contain at least eight digits, not all digits or letters, but a mix of letters and numbers.
Take out the paper and pen and write down your login name and password! Note that the username and password are case sensitive. To avoid forgetting.
If you are not familiar with the option "password is required for logon and my home directory is encrypted", we recommend that you do not select it to avoid access to your home directory after encryption.
After entering the information, click "forward.

Check whether the installation is correct. Click "Install" to start installation.

If downloading the Language Pack is slow, you can skip this step and download the pack from another source after the installation is complete.

If you are online, the installation should be completed on the Chinese interface.
If you have disconnected the network or skipped the Language Pack, the system will prompt you "incomplete language support" after you restart the package. Do not run the package first, click "close" to close the message.

Ii. Configuration

If you have just installed Ubuntu with no Chinese interface, no Chinese Input Method, and you cannot play common audio and video files ...... Please do not blame. This is because Ubuntu has limited human and financial resources.
You cannot release an independent version for each country or region. You can configure the version by yourself.

Ailurus

This mini-program can help us configure Ubuntu more easily.
Download the installation package of ailurus first ,:

We need to download the file with the extension ". Deb". Be sure to select the correct version, such as Ubuntu

Enter the password.

After the installation is complete, click "close" to close the window.

Open ailurus in the system tool menu.

Enter the password.

Start to download the required software package.

During this period, you may need to enter one or two passwords again. Please note the prompt.

After the configuration is complete, if your computer's video card is integrated with a video card, the system will generally prompt "this system does not use a proprietary driver", which indicates that the Ubuntu system already has a built-in video card driver and does not need to install additional drives.

Then close the Configuration window for ailurus.

You can also use ailurus for other practical settings, such:
1) if you do not like "display the mounted volume icon" on the desktop, you can cancel the display in "system settings-desktop.
2) if you are not comfortable placing the buttons "minimization", "maximization", and "close" on the left of the title bar of the window, you can set the "layout of buttons in the window title bar" in "system settings-window effect ".

Iii. Input Method

After the computer is restarted, the interface becomes Chinese. However, there is no Pinyin input method. You need to set it again. If you automatically download the Language Pack during the installation process, you may not need this step. The installation is complete.
The Pinyin input method is directly available.

Click the keyboard-like Input Method icon and select "Preferences ".

Click "Input Method -- select input method ".

Select "Chinese-pinyin ".

Click "add.

Select "Chinese-pinyin" and click "up" to move "Chinese-pinyin" to the top.

Close the ibus Preference window.

Then you can select the Pinyin Input Method to input Chinese characters.

 

By default, candidate words of ibus are arranged vertically. You can set them to horizontal in your preferences.
There are only five candidate words in each row in the Pinyin input method. You can click "I" in the input method status bar and drag "number of candidates" to nine.

Iv. Flash

1) install Adobe Flash Player for Firefox
Flash is not installed in Firefox by default.
Player Plug-ins. When you open a webpage with flash, a prompt will pop up: "You need other plug-ins to display all media on this page" will pop up. When you click "install missing plug-ins" to install it, installation will fail.
To install it manually, follow these steps:
