Upgrade Debian Release 3 to 4-Debian, a Linux release technology. For more information, see the following. The server was upgraded from Debian 3 sarge to Debian 4 etch a few days ago. By observing the operation performance over the past few days, I felt very satisfied. The new system includes the new WWW server Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.2.0, and SVN has also been upgraded from 1.1 to 1.4, trac also upgraded from 0.8 to 0.10.3 (but recently I manually upgraded it to 0.10.4 ).
Everything is good, and the server performance is even better. I don't know if it benefits from the new version of Apache, or from the new version of PHP or MySQL.
The kernel is not upgraded. You can only use the old kernel, but it is good. The Debian upgrade is quite smooth. Modify the apt source in/etc/apt/sources. list from sarge to etch, and then execute
