Frontpage| News | Web DHTML is the meaning of dynamic Web pages, and it's not really a standard term. In fact, no technology called dhtml.dhtml is a Web page built to interact with visitors using CSS (cascading style sheets), javascript,html, etc. For example, in a Dynamic Web page, when a visitor clicks on a picture, the image is automatically moved, which is the DHTML effect. That is, when the Web page is downloaded, it does not have to connect with the server to make a difference. FRONTPAGE2000 provides a set of easy ways to make dynamic Web pages, and you can build dynamic Web pages that belong to your own characteristics.

   basic steps for using DHTML

1. Click on the page to select the objects you want to use DHTML, such as text, pictures. For text you need to drag the mouse to select;

2. On the DHTML toolbar, choose an event with an open Drop-down list, the text and picture have different events, and then apply the Drop-down list to select an effect; Finally, select the implementation method of the effect;

3. When you use DHTML for an object, save the page and preview it, and you'll see that the object you selected is the one you set up for the DHTML effect;

4. If you want to delete the DHTML effect of an object, select the object, and then click the Delete Effect icon on the DHTML toolbar. (Figure 1)

  DHTML Events

In DHTML production, the term "event" is the most we hear. What is "event", as the name suggests, is the one thing that happens, such as you open the door with your hand, then this is an event. To make a Web page, the door turns into a click, which means that the visitor clicks a link, and the result of the event is opened.

In FrontPage2000, when we open the DHTML Effects toolbar, selecting text or pictures can produce different events. But their methods of application are the same, below we take the text for example:

Let's first enter a text in the editor, such as: Web page, and then proceed to the following three steps:

Event-(Figure 2)

Figure 2

Select a section of text that needs to produce a DHTML effect, here is a Web page pottery bar. Select an event from the Open Drop-down list of the DHTML Effects toolbar. Here for the text we only have "page load" this event. "Web Load" is the event that occurs when the page is first loaded, and it does not require the user to use the mouse to trigger it, but only if the visitor uses the browser to open it will produce a preset dynamic effect.

Application-(Figure 3)

Figure 3

After choosing a good event, we will select an application effect for the event in the Drop-down list. There are seven kinds of effects that can be used under this list, and we choose to fly in.
Method-(Figure 4)

Figure 4

There are different ways to apply effects. For example, when you select the application effect is "fly in" time, the text can fly from the bottom, can fly from the left, can also fly in from the right, these are the methods. The term is not noted in this dropdown list. Some applications have no method, such as fluctuations. Here we choose to fly from the bottom.

Finally save the page and preview, you will find the Web page Pottery bar This four words in the page after the first load from the bottom fly into. Of course, you can also try other DHTML effects. For the selected picture, you will see new events in the Open Drop-down list on the DHTML Effect toolbar, click and Hover, and they will have their own application effects and implementation methods. You can try each one so that you can understand the relationship between these events and the effects and methods of the application.

  The little tricks of DHTML

  DHTML Compatibility

DHTML Web pages made with FrontPage2000 can only be browsed completely by InternetExplorer4.0 or above. For the DHTML effect of a picture, Netscape Communicator version 4.0 or above can also be browsed.

  prohibit DHTML

If you want to disable the DHTML effect, click the Menu Tool/Page option, select the Compatibility tab in the Open dialog box, uncheck the check box in front of the dynamic HTML, and the dhtm effect is disabled.

  quick use of DHTML

In general, when you don't select an object, you just have to move the mouse to the left or right of the object and click on it to use the DHTML effect.

  Web Transition

Web transition refers to the process of the effect that occurs when you enter or leave a Web page. For example, if you go from one page to another, you will find that the current page closes slowly to the middle, and another new page appears, until the current page closes and the new page appears. If you want to use a web transition, you can follow these steps:

1. Open the page where you want to use the transition effect, or create a new page. Click the menu Format/page transition, open the Web Page Transition dialog box; (Figure 5)

Figure 5

2. Select an event in the Drop-down list of events and we choose to enter the page. You should note that when you set the transition effect for a page and site, the page will be more than the site transition effect preferred;

3. Enter a duration in the Cycle text box, and then click an effect in the Transition Effect list box to select it. Use the browser to open the page, because we choose the page transition is to enter the page, so when you open the page you can see the transition effect.

Using DHTML effects is really a powerful tool to attract visitors, but if you don't want to deal with complex code, FrontPage2000 has a lot of DHTML effects preset for you. All you have to do is select objects that need dynamic effects, such as text, pictures, and then use the "fool" type of action to make your Web page move.
