The People's Bank of China Sub-branch server (Windows NT) is generally not only as the domain controller of intranet, but also is responsible for the important tasks such as online document processing, sharing resource management, and sending and receiving emails, and it is of great significance to do routine maintenance work. After careful exploration and practice, the author summed up the following experience in the work of sharing with you readers.

Automatic logon of the system typically, users must enter a user name and password before entering the win NT network. To simplify the boot process, you can automatically access the win NT with the user name and password of a group at startup without having to enter the login parameters manually. The operation is as follows:

1. Open Registry Editor and expand the following key values in the editor:

[hkey_local_machinesoftwaremicro-

Softwindows Ntcurrent Versionwinlogon]

2. With the mouse click on the right side of the "AutoAdminLogon" key value name, in the dialog box text column, enter the value "1".

3. Use the mouse to select the right default-domainname key value name, and in the subsequent pop-up text column to enter the name of the domain names to be logged in.

4. Follow the same procedure, select the "DefaultUserName" key value name on the right, and enter the name of the user to log on to the network in the string text box.

5. In Registry Editor, click the Edit menu with the mouse and select the "New key value" command in the Drop-down menu, and then in the list to the right of the registry, enter the key value name "DefaultPassword" and the key value type "REG_SZ".

6. With the mouse double-click the "DefaultPassword" key value, in the pop-up dialog box to enter the user's password.

7. Reboot, the user with the default settings will automatically log on to the specified network.

If the user no longer needs the automatic login function, simply change the "AutoAdminLogon" key value to the value "0".

Canceling system detection serial port This is to improve the start speed of NT system. Every time the computer starts, the computer's hardware is checked again, which takes a certain amount of time and slows the computer's startup speed. You can use some settings to cancel the system detection of the serial port, so as to improve the NT system start speed, the specific steps are as follows:

1. Mask the "read-only" property of the Boot.ini file in the root directory.

2. Open the Boot.ini file with a text editor and modify the contents of the [Operating system] section, adding each row with the Noserialmice parameter, as follows:

3. Save exit, reboot.

Disable automatic operation of disc

1. Open Registry Editor and expand the following key values in the editor:

2. In the list on the right of the editor, select the "AutoRun" key value in the mouse.

3. Double-click the "AutoRun" key value and enter the value "0" in the dialog box.

4. Restart the computer.

System Administrator Login method

The county branch network administrator generally has the dual role, is both the network administrator, is also the network user. For these reasons, it is preferable for each administrator to have two domain user accounts. One is placed in the Administrators local group, which is used when performing network management tasks, and another in the user local group, which is used at other times.

Administrators use two accounts, the network will be more secure. When an administrator logs on as a normal user or when someone else is on duty, the network features that only administrators can modify are not modified because of unexpected factors. Even if a virus is brought in, the intruder will not have the power that only the administrator has, so it cannot modify the operating system files.

Start-up disk and Emergency Repair Disk when the NT Server fails, you can use the Startup disk to start the computer, and then use the Emergency Repair Disk to repair some of the basic system failures, such as repairing system files, partition's primary sector, and the startup environment.

1. Make the Startup disk

Put the NT disc in, prepare three formatted 3-inch, 1.44MB blank floppy disk, go to the command prompt, switch to the CD-ROM drive (F:), and type the following command: F:>i386winnt.exe/ox, follow the instructions.

2. Make Emergency Repair Disk

If the user does not follow the system prompts to make an emergency Repair disk during the installation of NT, after installing NT, at the system prompt, perform the following: Winnt System32 disk.exe Command, then insert the floppy disk in the floppy drive and click the "Create Repair Disk" button to complete.

It should be noted that when there are major changes in the system, such as zoning or volume changes should be timely update the boot disk and repair disk.

Automatic shutdown

Because Windows NT does not support the soft shutdown feature of the ATX power supply, it does not automatically turn off the power when it shuts down the system. In fact, we can use the following settings to implement automatic shutdown (the server power must be ATX power supply):

1. Locate the file named Hal.dll.softex in the NT installation disc, then back up the Hal.dll file in the WinntSystem32 directory and change Hal.dll to its name (such as Hal.dll.old), Copy the Hal.dll.softex from the CD to the WinntSystem32 directory and rename it to Hal.dll.

2. In Registry Editor, expand Hkey_local_machinesoftwaremicrosoft Windows Ntcurrentversionwinlogon, and then double-click the window pane to the right. Powerdownaftershutdown the key value name (without this name, you can add by using the Add Value command in the Edit menu, with the data type REG_SZ, the default value is 0), and in the dialog box, enter "1" (or other Non-zero value). Reboot, the system will automatically turn off the power.

The backup of the server's backup recovery server is primarily a backup of the NT operating system and notes data. A conditional county branch can be specially equipped with a standby machine, and information about the system is updated at any time. No conditions can also allow any one of the local area network running NT Workstation as standby. However, because the account information in notes and the user's mail database are dynamically changing, you must regularly and irregularly back up the entire notes directory, and preferably back up to a different computer to minimize the potential damage.

2. Restore or upgrade

If there is a problem with the server, we can restore it by following these steps:

1 Install NT operating system, carry on the related network configuration. If you originally have a backup machine, you can modify the network configuration directly to the server configuration.

2 Install Notes Domino. The installation of the software is relatively simple, run the installer directly according to the prompts to select the server to install on it (note: The installation of the content must be the same as the original server).

3) restore the corresponding configuration. Lotus Notes is not started immediately after the Domino installation is complete. Copy all files from the previously backed up notes (Domino's installation directory) subdirectory to the same directory as the new server, and c:winnt the original server (Windows NT installation directory) The Notes.ini files under the subdirectory are copied to the same directory as the new server, then start the Notes server, update the contacts and other related information, the system has been restored.
