1. Introduction to Remote Desktop

When the Remote Desktop Connection function is enabled on a computer, we can control the computer on the other end of the network. Through the Remote Desktop function, we can operate the computer in real time and install software on it, running a program makes everything as if you were operating on the computer directly. This is the biggest function of Remote Desktop. Through this function, the network administrator can control the server of the Organization safely at home, because this function is built-in to the system, it has a greater advantage in connection speed and quality than other third-party remote control tools.

2. How to start Remote Desktop Connection

Microsoft WINDOWS 2000 SERVER, windows xp, WINDOWS 2003, windows vista, and the latest WINDOWS 7 all have remote desktop functions. However, the methods for enabling remote desktop vary among systems.

(1) WINDOWS 2000 SERVER

In WINDOWS, the PROFESSIONAL version cannot enable the Remote Desktop function for others to access, but the SERVER version can be enabled, but we need to install the corresponding WINDOWS Components. The method is as follows:

Step 1: Go to "start-> Settings-> Control Panel" in the taskbar and select "Add/delete programs ".

Step 2: Select "Add/delete WINDOWS Components" on the left ".

Step 3: The Add/delete WINDOWS component window will appear later. Select Terminal Service and click "Next" to install the component. Note that during the installation process, we need to insert the WINDOWS 2000SERVER system CD to the optical drive.

Step 4: restart the computer after installation. After restart, the Remote Desktop Connection function under WINDOWS 2000SERVER is installed.

(2) WINDOWS XP

As mentioned above, the introduction of the Remote Desktop Connection function in Windows has been well received by many users. It is widely believed that the method to enable this function is too complicated, in addition, you cannot guarantee that everyone has a Windows Server CD. Therefore, in XP and 2003 systems, Microsoft simplified the Remote Desktop enabling operation.

Step 1: Right-click my computer on the desktop and select "properties ".

Step 2: select the remote tag in the pop-up System Properties window.

Step 3: Find "Remote Desktop" in the remote tag and check "allow users to connect to this computer" to enable Remote Desktop Connection in XP.

(3) WINDOWS 2003

The method for enabling WINDOWS2003 is similar to that of XP, and the operation steps are also simplified. The method is as follows:

Step 1: Right-click my computer on the desktop and select "properties ".

Step 2: select the remote tag in the pop-up System Properties window.

Step 3: Find "Remote Desktop" in the remote tag, check "allow user to connect to this computer", and then confirm to enable the Remote Desktop Connection function under 2003.

(4) WINDOWS VISTA

Choose "Control Panel"> "system and maintenance"> "system" or right-click the desktop "computer" icon and choose "properties" to open the management interface, select "remote settings" in the task list on the right. The corresponding settings page is displayed. If you remotely connect to the system from another client that runs Windows Vista, you can use the "allow only remote desktop computer connections with network-level authentication" option at the bottom, this provides enhanced security. If you want to connect to the system from a Windows 2000/XP client, you can only use "Allow Remote Desktop Computer connections of any version". Of course, this poses a certain risk.

(5) WINDOWS 7

Step 1: Set Remote Desktop on a remote computer. Click the "computer" icon and select the "properties" command. In the "System" window that appears, click the "remote settings" link, in the "remote" option window of "System Properties", select "Allow Remote Desktop Computer connections of any version" to enable the Remote Desktop function. Next, go to the "control panel-User Account and home security" function and set a password for the account used to log on to the Remote Desktop.

Step 2: After the remote computer is set up, you can try to connect to the Remote Desktop on the local machine. Click the "Start-all programs-accessories-Remote Desktop Connection" command, enter the remote computer name in the "Remote Desktop" window, and click the "Connect" button; in this case, the "Windows Security" window will pop up and you need to enter the password. after entering the password, check the "Remember me creden。" option and click OK to automatically log on to the Remote Desktop at the next connection.
