A foreign tester said recently that in the latest beta version of Microsoft's next-generation operating system Windows 7, Microsoft allows users to disable Internet Browser IE that comes with Windows. This is the first time Windows has bound Internet Explorer since 1997, Microsoft has provided the option to disable Internet Explorer for users.
In this test version, Microsoft added the "IE browser" option in the "enable or disable Windows component functions" dialog box, which means that you can disable IE. Microsoft's move may be due to concerns about the EU "Objection statement. The European Union issued an "Objection statement" to Microsoft in January 16, accusing Microsoft of bundling IE with Windows against the EU's anti-monopoly law and hindering the development of other browsers. It is unclear whether the option to Disable IE is retained in the official version of Windows 7. However, if Microsoft WINS in the response to the EU "Objection statement", this option is likely not to be retained.
