Four new features in live Messenger 9.0

The author is fortunate to be a member of the public test invitees and experience the wonderful new generation of instant messaging tools in the first time. Here to share with you the new version of several new features, since WLM9 has not yet released the Simplified Chinese version, so here to install the version of the Simplified Chinese language files as an example to introduce.

Log on multiple points simultaneously

Now we can log on to the same account in multiple locations at the same time, that is, the so-called "more open", can be at the same time in four locations to log in the same account, and you do not need to install any Third-party software or plug-ins. This feature is useful for Office users because you can log on to multiple computers and even mobile devices so that you don't miss important information. It is also interesting for home users, such as the logon status of the same account in the office can be logged out remotely.

Log in to WLM9 at multiple locations, after the login is successful, the system tray area will have the same content bubble prompt, but also will be in the main window after the login status of the "2 locations" hint (see Figure 1), where the "2" indicates that the WLM9 has been logged in at two different locations at the same time. Allows you to log on up to four different locations, from the logon Status Drop-down menu, you can choose to log off from either location, or you can log off all logged in states.

Tip: Multiple locations at the same time login WLM9 features are not available to users outside North America, so we need to log in to the Windows Live account, to register the Windows ID when the account information to modify.

customizing contact sounds

By default, when a WLM contact logs in, we hear the exact same beep, which is simply not a sign of individuality, that is, just knowing someone is logged in or out, and if you're not next to the computer, it's hard to tell which contact is logged on or off. Is it possible to provide personalized cues like the QQ dazzle Bell?

The first step is to select the appropriate contact in the main interface, right-click the select voice from this contact, and then open the dialog box similar to Figure 2, the default setting is to not select the sound, which means that we are hearing the exact same beep, But now you can in this dialog box in accordance with their preferences to choose the appropriate beep, select the beep, you can click on the right side of the play button to audition, each of the beep provides a long time to play the message.

The second step, the system built-in beep after all is still limited, in fact, we can also be a hard drive on the wonderful songs or light music as a contact person's cue tone, so you can be a condemnation.

When you click the Add Sound button, a dialog box pops up that provides support for three sound formats such as "*.wma, *.mp3, *.wav," and select a sound file that matches the criteria, and we see that the progress bar under Windows Live is moving to the right for a moment, The WLM9 will automatically intercept 5 seconds of sound clips, or you can drag the right side of the slider to the left and right to fast-forward, rewind and truncate a piece of your favorite sound.

Step three, click the Finish button in the lower right corner, after confirmation you can add this new beep to the previous dialog box, select just intercepted sound clips, confirmed to complete the work of customizing the voice of the contact, in the future, whether the friend login or logoff, we can hear the prior order of the beep.

Support Dynamic Avatar

In previous versions, WLM did not support dynamic avatars, now you can set the animated GIF format directly to its own display avatar, you can use the System built-in 6 dynamic avatar, as shown in Figure 3, there are stars, the moon, there are fish swimming, of course, you can also choose the other GIF pictures on this machine, Click the Browse button on the right to import it yourself. However, the emphasis here is that only your contacts also have WLM9 installed, so they can see the dynamic avatar you set up, otherwise you will see only the first frame of the GIF picture.

Report Junk Mail

With the WLM of the user base more and more wide, now a variety of MSN robots, so that we receive unsolicited spam messages, spam is also greatly increased, in addition to manual shielding, there seems to be no good way. However, now that WLM9 has provided the ability to report spam, for those who are not welcome, you can select "Block and report as spammers" in the chat dialog or the main screen, and then click the dialog box shown in Figure 4 to confirm the report. Later, the other side not only can not send spam messages to you, but also sent to the mail will be Microsoft's server blacklisted, of course, before the operation must see clearly yo, lest wrong operation.
