As we know, Word documents of the same content, after different operation processing, their size is somewhat different, even quite alarming. We have a way to "slim down" the Word document.
1. Re-page Setup to shrink the file
Every time the document is edited, before saving, click on the "File" menu, select "Page Setup" to open the dialog box, the mouse click on the "paper size" or "margins" and other labels (no need to change the original settings), press (OK) button, and finally save the document. You'll find that the document gets a lot smaller.
2. Editing a Word document multiple times will increase the file size
The Word document expands quickly after it has been edited several times. The author has in the Word document containing several pictures, edited more than 10 pictures, the file size from the original 160 kb up to 1.5MB, and later copy the file to a new document, file length but 170KB. So, when a document is edited and finalized, the contents of the document should be copied to the new document.
3. Inserting a picture in a different format can seriously affect the file size
Before inserting a picture, you should first deal with the picture format. Figure 1 is the same picture in a variety of different formats to save the size of the file, from the figure is not difficult to see, the inserted jpg file is more ideal. For those pictures that don't have much color, you can save them in less color, which will also reduce the storage space. Interestingly, scaling a picture in a Word document has no effect on the size of the file. In addition, Word also handles the inserted picture appropriately, such as a 3.5MB BMP picture that is inserted into a Word document, and the size of a 1.52mb,480kb gif picture is 460KB after it is inserted into a Word document.
4. Setting document formatting affects file size
Setting a variety of font sizes and fonts in a document can also affect the size of a file, and I do a single, single font, single color test for 78KB-length documents, which affect the length of the file as shown in Figure 2. Obviously, if you set a variety of fonts, font size, color, the impact is greater. Therefore, there is no need to render too much on text formatting.
