The following are four methods for upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04 Natty online and offline respectively. You can select one of the most advantageous methods for upgrading. (Core tips: upgrade is risky and you must be cautious when performing this operation! )

-Online upgrade

1 GUI mode:

Enter the following command in the terminal:

Sudo update-manager-d

The upgrade tool will be turned on. You can see the words "upgrade to 11.04" (for example, "upgrade to upgrade.

2 CLI Mode

Prompt = lts

Change

Save and exit, and then execute

Sudo do-release-upgrade-d

During the upgrade process, you will be prompted to modify the source address in source. list, Press y to continue, and then wait for it to automatically upgrade. After the upgrade, restart the system.

# The above two methods are the same as the 10.10 upgrade method. For details, see the article "how to upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10.

-Offline upgrade

3. After downloading the ISO image, upgrade the disk with a dial.

Ubuntu 11.04 and later versions support the upgrade function. After downloading ISO and making it into a CD or USB disk, you can start it from Live CD. If Ubuntu has been installed on your hard disk, during the installation process, you will be prompted to perform the upgrade, as shown in the following figure.

4. Offline upgrade using alternate ISO Image

This method can be upgraded in the current system without making a CD or USB disk. The Ubuntu ISO image we use here is not the commonly used ISO, but Ubuntu alternate ISO. You can download it at the following address:

After downloading the file, you can upgrade it offline. First, load the ISO file.

Sudo mount-t iso9660-o loop ~ /Maverick-alternate-i386.iso/cdrom

Then you can run the cdromupgrade program on the CD to upgrade it.

Sudo/cdrom/cdromupgrade

For details, see the article "upgrade Ubuntu offline with an ISO image.

In addition, another method is to directly modify the source to upgrade. This method is more complex than above and is not recommended.
