Four modes for managing routing and switching devices-WEB Mode

 

Manage network devices through WEB

H3C routing and switching devices provide better WEB management support. However, you must configure the routing and switching devices before using WEB-based configuration management. The following uses H3C S3100-8C-SI equipment as an example to describe its related configuration, network topology figure 3.

1. Use a Console line to connect the serial port of the computer to the Console port of the H3C S3100 switch, and configure the IP address of the switch management VLAN.

5. // cancel the management of the original vlan ip Address

2. Configure the user name and authentication password of the WEB administrator to log on to the H3C S3100 through the Console port. Add a Web user of an Ethernet switch. Set the user level to 3, that is, a management user.

1. [H3C] local-user admin

2. // set the user name to admin.

3. [H3C-luser-admin] service-type telnet level 3

4. // set the user level to 3

5. [H3C-luser-admin] password simple admin

6. // set the admin password to admin.

3. configure a static route from a vswitch to a gateway

1. [H3C] ip route-static 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.2.254

2. // the IP address of the gateway is 10.10.2.254.

3. [H3C] undo ip http shutdown

4. // run this command to ensure that the http service runs

After the preceding commands are configured, enter http: // 10.10.2.1 in the browser of the Management PC, and press the Enter key to view the WEB management logon interface of the H3C switch, as shown in figure 4, enter the user name and password, select the language of the WEB management interface, and press Enter. The management interface shown in Figure 5 is displayed. According to the language prompt in the management interface, you can configure the parameters in the H3C S3100 switch.

Note that there must be accessible routes between the management IP address 10.10.2.1/24 of the Management PC and the H3C switch, no matter what IP address is entered in the browser of the Management PC, you cannot log on to the WEB management interface of the H3C switch. To verify the route accessibility from the Management PC to the vswitch, you can run the ping 10.10.2.1 command in the command line of the Management PC. If the ping succeeds, generally, there is no problem in managing routes between PCs and H3C switches.
