Recently I installed a new PC with a fairly high configuration, i7 CPU, 8 GB memory, and 2 TB hard drive. So I installed a clean genuine Win7 with caution, but I found that I turned on the graphics card? So I did some research and found that even if the new version of Windows is installed, the system performance is somewhat compromised.

1. superfetch Service

This silly x function will load your frequently used programs into the memory according to your usual usage habits. For example, if you open a browser at three o'clock P.M. and play games at, he will read them in advance at this time. Its slogan is that idle memory is a waste, so this nb service will try to fill your memory in a certain proportion, when your memory is relatively large, it will be lively, such as 8 GB memory, it will consider filling in two or three GB memory at a specified point at each boot time ......

It is estimated that this is basically useless except for those living in extreme patterns. It is the biggest killer of system performance.

Close method: Right-click computer> Manage> Service

2. System Protection

In theory, the role of system protection is to prevent others from replacing or modifying windows system files, however, I have observed that the system protection will not work unless IIS is installed normally or the driver is manually installed. "Some operating system files are replaced with unknown versions, no rogue software has been found to bypass system protection installation. However, Microsoft, which seems to be desperate, insists that this function is useful and uses 2% of disk C by default, this means that if your C drive is very large, the protection function will constantly back up your system files until it occupies 2% of the C drive, for example, if I split the 1 TB space of drive C, it will occupy 20 GB ...... oh shit!

3. Windows Search

This is another amazing feature. Windows Search allows you to quickly Search for file names and content. However, you must pay hard disk space and index generation time, I don't know why it is miraculously integrated with the search function of outlook mailbox (outlook cannot be searched in XP because this function is not provided by the system by default ......). The problem is that once this service is started, it will index all files by default, as a programmer, if you put the source code of a large system, the index will eat a large hard disk and execute performance, even if only windows system files are enough to make the Index Service busy, now, browsers like caching ......

Well, the most terrible thing is that the index service is running in the background, and you will never be able to know its progress. Before the index is created, your search function is disabled, because there is no UI, it's hard for you to pause your machine performance at work or during a game ......

Microsoft knows that this is a bit performance-consuming, so its service is delayed by default, so it does not delay the startup time, if you do not like searching frequently, you are advised to disable it.

4. Reduce or disable the virtual memory

Virtual Memory is actually useless, which is a widely used technology. However, 32-bit systems and virtual memory only have 4 GB to meet all program needs, do you still need the virtual memory if you have 8 GB of memory? If the program really needs 8 GB memory to execute... it would be better to let it die.

By default, 8 GB virtual memory will be allocated to Windows 7 in a PC with 8 GB memory, which is a waste of performance.

Of course, if you want to have an image when the system crashes, you can leave it at least 400 mb.
