1. Use the Web client to verify the validity of the 163 mailbox
In the case of a 163 mailbox that cannot be logged on normally in Foxmail, you must first try to log on to the 163 mail server through the Web client, and use the previously set email password to log on and verify whether the server can be accessed. If there is no problem with the Web login (Figure 1), it proves that the password in the mailbox is correct. You need to find the cause from other aspects.
2. Type of verification error in Foxmail
Then, return to the Foxmail Mail Manager window, delete the previously set email account, and recreate it. Fill in the Foxmail mail server parameters with the Web-based logon password and settings. Then, click the mail TO receive or send command. If "-err unable to log on" is displayed, re-enter the password ?" The error is displayed, indicating that the problem still occurs with the logon password (Figure 2 ). You need to start with the logon password to find out the cause of the problem.
3. Enable POP3, SMTP, and IMAP on the Web side.
Go to the Web-side mailbox management page again, click "set" in the mailbox, and select "POP3/SMTP/IMAP" on the left bar ", then, check whether the selection of "POP3/SMTP service" and "IMAP/SMTP service" is enabled in the right pane (figure 3 ). If not selected, select the two items and then try the connection information of Foxmail again.
4. Enable the client authorization password for logon
If you still cannot connect to the email server in Foxmail after the preceding steps, select "client authorization password" in the Web terminal management interface of mailbox 163 to go to the authorization code settings page, select the "enable" client authorization code. Note that the client authorization password cannot be set to the same as the Web-side mailbox password. Therefore, this is why you cannot log on to your mailbox with the password you set earlier. Finally, try to use the new authorization code to set the access password in Foxmail. The problem is generally solved.
