I have been using Gmail all the time, but since some time ago it was rumored that Gmail may have disappeared, I was in a hurry. Please know how many important emails I have in it!
As a result, POP3 from other mailboxes constantly collects Gmail emails for backup. But POP3 has a problem: After receiving a new email from pop3 in another mailbox, my mail client on Windows will not receive this new email (the status has changed ), therefore, it is much easier to use IMAP to receive Gmail emails.
Outlook 2007 supports IMAP, but unfortunately only supports downloading the mail title. You must click the mail title before downloading the mail content. This is still the case when you view the mail next time, this makes it impossible to view emails without connecting to the Internet. Therefore, you can only discard outlook.
Dreammail does not have the IMAP function, even though it is my favorite client software.
Foxmail highlighted me: not only does Foxmail support imap, but also the content of emails that have been viewed will be downloaded to the local device. You can also read the content without going online during the next viewing, this solves all the problems.
Imap can be fully synchronized with the mailbox. Currently, I prefer imap instead of POP3.
2010.3.19 update:
Foxmail has been unable to connect to the Gmail server for at least a week. I have always thought it was a strange problem. I thought it was my network problem. Then I searched the network and found out that it was like this: currently, Gmail updates only support high-level SSLv3 and tslv1 connections. Foxmail uses SSLv2 for connection. You can only wait for official Foxmail updates to support the SSLv3 and tslv1 protocols with high security.
2010.3.27 update:
Last night, I upgraded the new version of Foxmail (currently the latest version is: 6.5 official version build 023). Now I can support Gmail IMAP. In addition, I would like to thank the users who commented below.
