Unable to send the message normally due to the following problems, please check one by one:
First, account configuration
1, the main interface click "Tools"-"Account Management", select Account on the left, select "Server" on the right, check whether the incoming mail server (SMTP) is completed correctly.
2, in general, the "server" page in the middle of "Send server requires authentication" is checked, click "Settings" to confirm ESMTP Verify that the information is set correctly. (Generally select "Use the same information as the IMAP/POP3 server", it is important to note that some servers require the use of the first half of the email address (i.e., the characters to the left of the "@" sign in the e-mail address), but some mail servers need to use the full email address. After encountering this problem, we recommend that you change the attempt in these two items. )
3. Under "Server" page, find "Advanced", click to check the port and secure connection is set correctly.
4, some servers need to be in the "server" page under "advanced" tick "if the server supports, use STARTTLS encrypted transmission", such as vip163 account, Hotmail account (including @hotmail.com, @live. com and @live.cn) and so on.
Second, anti-virus software
Some anti-virus software mail monitoring function may cause foxmail unable to send and receive mail, please turn off the anti-virus software mail monitoring function, or temporarily disable anti-virus software to confirm.
Third, network and proxy settings
1. Unable to connect to the server due to network reasons. Check that your network environment is correct.
2, the main interface click "Tools"-"System Settings"-"Network" Check the Foxmail 7 mail client's system proxy settings are correct.
3, the main interface click "Tools"-"Account Management", select the account on the left, the right side select "Server", on the "server" page found "advanced"-"Proxy settings" to check whether the account set up a separate agent.
Iv. whether the SMTP feature of the account is enabled
Please confirm that the account has SMTP enabled, such as the Pop3/imap function of QQ mailbox is need to be enabled manually (QQ mailbox Top "Settings"-"Account"-"POP3/IMAP/SMTP service").
Error messages are returned when a message is sent, and can be handled as appropriate for the specific situation. Common error messages are:
1, the server returns "535 error:authentication failed".
An error occurred with SMTP authentication. Most mailbox-delivered mail servers now require authentication. You need to select "SMTP mail server requires authentication" in the Mail server property page of the Foxmail Account Properties dialog box, and fill in the correct email account and password under "POP3 Mailbox Account" and "password". If the SMTP and POP3 servers that are filled in the account properties are not provided on the same mailbox, click the Settings button and fill in the Authentication Information dialog box with the authentication information that corresponds to SMTP.
Note: The individual mailbox needs to use the complete email address as the verification information, needs to fill in the Mailbox account one column complete e-mail address.
2. The server returns "553 error:authentication is required".
This is because the client software does not use the ESMTP method to send mail, as long as the "SMTP mail server requires authentication" option is selected in the account properties. Even if the SMTP mail server requires authentication option is not selected, Foxmail will automatically attempt to send the message in ESMTP mode, so this failed send has rarely occurred in Foxmail.
3. The server returns "550:invalid user", "550:local user only" or "551 delivery not allowed to Non-local recipient".
If this occurs when you send a message using the normal way, this is because the server checks the sender's address and is not sent for messages that are not provided by the server from the sender's address. The workaround is to open the Foxmail Account Properties dialog box and in the personal information e-mail address, fill in the email address provided by the mailbox system to which the SMTP server belongs. If the prompt appears when you use SpeedPost to send mail, it indicates that the other party's mail server does not receive this speedpost delivery method, please use the normal way for this send.
4. The server returns "501 syntax.helo hostname" or "501 Invalid domain name".
The problem is with the computer name setting, because some SMTP servers do not allow the computer name to contain non-ASCII characters. In the TCP/IP settings, your computer name should be a simple English name, such as ABC, and then the DNS suffix is the same as your DNS domain. Change the name of the computer and you can solve the problem right away. Note that computer names cannot be in Chinese, do not use infrequently used symbols, and should include the full DNS suffix.
