Framework design based on WPF system (1) The reason of imitation Office2010 ribbon

Why is the system framework designed to use ribbon navigation mode? This has to be explained by the evolution of Office software. Why Microsoft finally chooses to use Ribbon, perhaps is many system designs to use Ribbon to do the function navigation reason.
