server| problem my newly installed operating system is the Windows 2003 Standard Edition, which installed an enterprise version of SQL Server 2005 a few days ago, and the installation went well. Last night I loaded SQL Server 2000, and I found it on the internet, saying SQL Server 2000 and 2005 can be installed in one operating system at the same time, so I started the installation. Who knows, during the installation process, there are some problems. The problems and solutions I encountered during the installation process are summarized as follows:
Issue 1: In installation to "installation definition", I choose the default "server and Client Tools", after "Next", "Default" has become gray, I can only name a new instance name, can be installed, I have previously made up of C#+sql Server 2000 The server connected in the application is localhost, if you rename a new instance name, the local server in Enterprise Manager will not be able to connect, and the application will have an error connecting to the database. After naming a new instance name, always load down, an error occurred during installation "Installation of the Microsoft Full-text Retrieval engine package failed. ( -2147220991), 0x80040201 event cannot invoke any subscriber ".
WORKAROUND: 1. " The default is black: SQL Server 2005 will first be "default" during the installation process, so I have to uninstall SQL Server 2005 First, then clean the registry with the Super Bunny, and then install SQL Server 2000, in this way, after installing the Enterprise Manager, the local server becomes accessible. Then install SQL Server 2005, and when you install to instance name, do not select "Default", instead select "named instance", and enter a new instance name.
2. The installation of the Microsoft Full-text search engine package failed. ( -2147220991), 0x80040201 event cannot invoke any Subscriber ": When installing SQL Server 2000, in" Installation Type ", do not select default" typical ", but choose" Custom ", so that in subsequent installations, ensure that the" Full text search "Check is not selected So that this error will not occur at the end of the installation.
Issue 2: If you reinstall SQL Server 2000 after it fails, a new error may occur: "A previous program installation has created a pending file operation on the installation computer." You must restart the computer before running Setup.
Workaround: For this problem, you do not have to reboot, not to reinstall the operating system, because after the last installation failed, in the registration table will leave some stuff. At this point, just delete them. Start-> run, enter cmd, open registry, navigate to Hkey_local_ MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session managerpending, locate the Filerenameoperations item on the right and delete it. This will not happen if you reinstall.
Revelation: In Windows 2003, there are a lot of software that is different from installing under Windows XP. When you install SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005, you first install the former, select the default instance, and when you install SQL Server 2005, select Named instance.
