Full process of manual installation of SATA hard drive in Windows Vista

The netizens said they could not install the package, but I did not have to worry about it. After studying for 20 days, I finally installed the package yesterday. After installation and restart, You can manually add the SATA driver and registration information under XP to the temporary directory of Vista.

First, our central idea is to manually add a disk controller driver to the Vista installation directory. This requires two steps to complete:

1. In the temporary installation directory of Vista, place my own driver file.

2. add my own driver key value in the Vista Registry.

Well, with the theoretical foundation, we can take actions!

Install Vista normally in XP until the first restart. After restart, the blue screen is displayed. Enter XP again to perform the operation.

No. 1: Copy your own disk driver file to the relevant location in the Vista temporary directory.

Specifically, the *. sys file is put into the windows \ system32 \ drivers in the Vista temporary directory, and the *. inf and other files are put into the windows \ inf in the Vista temporary directory.

No. 2: how to modify the Vista Registry? We need to use the registry database of the current XP system as a temporary place to operate. Create a Temporary Folder at will: My location is under c: \ raid. Open the registry, find all the key values of the driver you want to install in XP, and export them all to the file sata. reg. Copy sata. reg to c: \ raid.

Then, create a new file a.txt in the raid folder. Open a and add the following content (// after which I do not need to write ):

If not exist system goto end
Copy system. bak // back up the system file.
Reg load hklm \ hk97sys system // write the content in the system file to Hkey_LOCAL_MACHINE \ hk97sys, and hk97sys is the temporary new key value.
Regedit/s SATA. reg // Add the value of sata. reg to the current registry. And save the system file.
Reg unload hklm \ hk97sys // Delete the hk97sys key value added to the current registry.
Pause // Let you see the results
: End

Save a.txt and change it to a. cmd. The operation is required after preparation. Copy the file named system under windows \ system32 \ config in the temporary directory of Vista to the c: \ sata directory. (Why copy the system file? Because that stuff is the location of the registry database .)

Run a. cmd. If the prompt is successful, copy the current system file back to its original location to overwrite the original file. In this way, we will add our driver information to the Vista Registry.

Shut down and restart the computer to enter the Vista Installer. If there is no blue screen, congratulations!

Continue to install the program. Automatically restarts 2nd times. Restart ---- blue screen! Hurry up and analyze the cause. N brain cells think it is still a driver problem! In the past, only the installer of Vista was processed. However, the system files of Vista on the hard disk are copied from the Vista installation disc! (The installation disc is not included !) It's not the stuff in the temporary directory of Vista...

If you know the reason, we can do it right away. However, this time the object is no longer a temporary directory of Vista. The disk where the Vista system is located.

No. 1: Copy your disk driver file to the relevant location in the Vista system directory.

Specifically, the *. sys file is put into E: \ windows \ system32 \ drivers, and *. inf and other files are put into E: \ windows \ inf.

No.2. copy the system file under E: \ windows \ system32 \ config to the c: \ sata directory. Run a. cmd. If the prompt is successful, copy the current system file back to its original location to overwrite the original file.

Shut down the computer again and restart the computer to enter the Vistaa installation program. If there is no blue screen, congratulations!
