More and more users are using Windows XP, because Windows XP has many features and is easy to use. However, if your hardware is not advanced enough, then her running speed is not flattering. Of course, isn't it true that only upgrading hardware can satisfy XP's "greedy" needs? We can use various software to increase the running speed of Windows XP!

Registry optimization solution

1. Enable CPU L2 cahce

Go to the Registry hkcu_local_machine \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory Management and create a DWORD Value:

Secondleveldatacache: modify this value to the second-level cache size of your CPU, and use a 10-digit value when entering the value. You can modify the DWORD Value "secondleveldatacache" to change the CPU Level 2 cache to kb, and then restart the computer.

2. Modify disk cache to accelerate XP

Disk cache plays a vital role in XP operations, but the default I/O page files are relatively conservative. Therefore, it is better to use different disk caches for different memories.

Go to the Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory Management \ iopagelocklimit and modify the hexadecimal value (64 M: 1000; 128 M: 4000; 256 M: 10000; 40000 m or larger ).

3. Remove menu Delay

Remove the delay when sliding out of the menu to speed up XP to a certain extent. The key value to be modified is hkey_current_usercontrol paneldesktop. The key to be modified is "menushowdelay". You only need to change the value to 0. Of course, the change takes effect only after the computer is restarted.

4. Specify the Process Order

At the same time, press the Control + ALT + Delete keys and click the "processes" tab. A dialog box is displayed, showing all processes currently running. If you wantProgramAllocate more process time, such as 3D Studio MAX. Right-click the process and move the mouse pointer down to "set priority> (set priority )", then select the priority of the program you want. When I receive an email, I set 3dmax to "standard", but when I leave the computer, I will upgrade it to the highest "real-time" priority ", in this way, computers can focus more on processing 3D actions more quickly.

5. Cancel the reserved bandwidth in Windows XP Professional Edition.

Because the Professional Edition is needed on the network, the default reserved bandwidth of 20% is set. In fact, for individual users, the reserved bandwidth is useless, you can use the Group Policy Editor to cancel Bandwidth Reservation.

In start → run, enter gpedit. MSC to open the Group Policy Editor. Find "Computer Configuration"> "management template"> "network"> "QoS packet scheduler", and select "restrict retained bandwidth" on the right ", select "attribute" to open the image and select "Disable. This is very good for modem users-releasing the reserved bandwidth can speed up online browsing and downloading!

6. Windows XP does not check the scheduled task

Generally, when Windows XP is connected to another computer, it will check all the scheduled tasks on the other computer. This process will make you wait for 30 seconds, which is so annoying. Let's disable this process by finding it in the registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \

Remotecomputer \ namespace. Here, there should be a {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF} key. You just need to delete it. After restarting the computer, Windows will no longer check the scheduled task, and the speed will be significantly improved!

Driver optimization scheme

1. If it is an Intel 8xx chipset, you must install the Intel application accelerator. After installation, the system optimization is obvious. This item can be downloaded from the Intel official website.

2. If the motherboard is not an Intel chipset, installing corresponding patches is essential, such as the via 4in1 program.

3. Try to use the driver that has passed the WHL authentication. This kind of driver has been certified by Microsoft hardware lab and has great advantages in stability and compatibility.

Other Optimization Solutions

1. Start Acceleration

Although the startup speed of Windows XP is much higher than that of Windows 98, there are still accelerated compaction. Download the bootvis.exe file to the Microsoft website, start it, and select trace> Optimize System in the menu. At this time, the system will prompt whether to restart. Choose start. Do not change anything after you restart and log on, after a period of time, a dialog box will pop up automatically, with prompt information such as system analysis displayed on the dialog box. Do not do anything. Wait until the prompt analysis is complete, so that the startup speed is significantly improved.

2. Remove unnecessary services

Every Time Windows XP is started, many services are started. Some of these services are useless to many users and occupy the memory. Next let's take a look at which services need to be turned off.

Click "start"> "run" and enter the command "services. msc" to open the "service" dialog box. (Note: You must log on as an administrator or a member of the administrators or Administrators Group to complete the process. If the computer is connected to the network, the network policy setting can also prevent you from completing this step .)

ClipBook server (Folder server): This service allows other users on your network to view your folder. Here I strongly recommend that you manually start it and then use other programs to publish information on your network.

Messenger: sends and receives messages over the network. If you disable Alerter, you can safely change it to manual start.

Printer Spooler (print background handler): If you do not configure a printer, it is recommended to manually start or simply close it.

Error Reporting Service: Provides error reports when services and applications run in non-standard environments. We recommend that you manually start the instance.

Fast User Switching Compatibility (quick User Switching Compatibility): We recommend that you start it manually.

Automatic update (automatic update): this function has been mentioned earlier. You can start it manually here.

Net Logon (network registration): handles network security features like registration information. You can change it to manual start.

Network DDE and Network dde dsdm (Dynamic Data Exchange): unless you want to share your office online, you should change it to manual start. Note: This is different from office in general business settings (if you need DDE, you will know ).

Nt lm Security Support (nt lm Security Support Provider): provides security protection for network applications. We recommend that you manually start the instance.

Remote Desktop Help Session Manager (Remote Desktop Help Session Manager): it is recommended to start it manually.

Remote Registry: enables remote users to modify registry settings on this computer. We recommend that you manually start the instance.

Task Scheduler: enables you to configure and schedule automatic tasks on this computer. It plans weekly fragmentation and so on. Unless you are too lazy and don't even want to open it on your computer, we recommend that you start it manually.

Uninterruptible power supply (uninterruptible power supply): used to manage your ups. If you do not have a UPS instance, manually start it or simply close it.

Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) (Windows Image Acquisition): provides image capture for scanners and cameras. If you do not have these devices, we recommend that you manually start them or simply close them.

3. Use a fixed virtual cache

We recommend that you set the maximum and minimum values to 382 m regardless of the size of your physical memory.

4. Ensure that the memory usage is preferentially used for the program, and the CPU plan is preferentially used for the program

First, open the "System" attribute, select the "advanced" tab, click "set" in the "performance" column, open the "performance" option dialog box, and then open the "advanced" tab, select "program" in the "processor plan" column, select "program" in the "memory usage" column, and click "OK" to exit.

5. Clear pre-read files

When XP is used for a period of time, the files in the pre-read folder will become very large and there will be dead chain files, which will slow down the system time. We recommend that you regularly delete these files (c: \ windows \ prefetch ).

6. Reduce disk scan wait time

In dos, type "CHKNTFS/T: 0", where "0" indicates that the waiting time is 0 seconds.

7. Disable disk Indexes

XP records all files for quick search. If you do not frequently search for files, close them. The specific method is: open my computer, right-click the drive, select "properties", and cancel "use index to quickly find files ".
