A recent problem found that GCC compiled on 64-bit Solaris by default is 32-bit, and the 64-bit Linux compiled on the default is 64-bit, it is a bit strange to find a reason on a foreign website, originally this is the Solaris intentionally. To sum up, there are the following points:

(1) 64-bit GCC or program does not necessarily run faster than 32-bit;

(2) The studio program defaults to 32-bit, GCC best and its behavior is consistent;

(3) From the user experience, the previous is the default to generate 32-bit program, now turn into 64, users may need to change a lot of configuration;

(4) 64-bit Solaris bit GCC can compile both 32-bit and 64-bit to see the user's choice.
