GDB Debug Notes

If you encounter a segmentation fault type of error, you need to debug it with GDB.

The steps are as follows:

1. Generate the core file for debugging: Ulimit-c Unlimited

2. Run the executable file generated by the problematic program such as:./main, run end will find the core file generated segmentation fault (core dumped)

3. Debug core file with GdB: gdb main core.* (core file actual name)

4. Enter GDB Debug mode command line

5. As shown above, the suspicious stack can be viewed:

such as: (GDB) F 1

(GDB) L

6. You can print the value of the variable in the code: Print variable name
