Getting Started with Photoshop Tutorial: making photoshop Brushes yourself

Although there are a lot of free brushes on the web for downloading, but it takes a lot of time to search and download, in fact, you only need a sufficient resolution of the picture can make their own brushes.

Start with a photo

First we need a high-resolution photo, preferably a texture photo, because for the brush, it must be a texture picture better than the landscape or portrait. The reason is obvious. The following picture that you see is what I took with my own Nikon D90.

Your picture should be as big as possible, and the size of this one is 4288x2848.

Adjust photos

Next, we need to make some adjustments to this picture before creating the brush. The goal is to raise a little shade and enhance contrast. So all we have to do is to use Photoshop to open this picture first.

You can adjust the brightness/contrast, color level, curve, and so on.
