Getting started with Linux: Embed all fonts in LaTex in PDF

Q: I have generated a PDF file by compiling the LaTex source file. However, I have noticed that not all fonts are embedded in PDF documents. How can I ensure that all fonts are embedded in PDF files generated by LaTex?

It is a good idea to embed fonts in a PDF file when creating a PDF file. If you do not embed a font, the ghost browser can use something else without a font on the computer. This results in different styles of files displayed in different browsers or operating systems. The missing font is a problem when you print the document.

When you generate a PDF document from LaTex (such as pdflatex or dvipdfm), not all fonts may be embedded in the PDF document. For example, the output below pdffonts prompts that the PDF document contains a missing font (such as Helvetica ).

To avoid this problem, the following describes how to embed all fonts during LaTex compilation.

$ Latex document. tex $ dvips-Ppdf-G0-t letter-o document. ps document. dvi $ ps2pdf-d1_settings =/prepress \-dCompatibilityLevel = 1.4 \-percent = false \-dColorImageFilter =/FlateEncode \-dGrayImageFilter =/FlateEncode \-dMonoImageFilter =/ flateEncode \-dDownsampleColorImages = false \-dDownsampleGrayImages = false \ document. ps document.pdf

Now you can see that all fonts are embedded in PDF.
