Getting started with Linux: Five image processing software
When sending an article, you can never use images to speak. After a long period of Running-in, I have used several image processing software on Linux Desktop. These software is widely used in the Linux world. Each Linux release version has its own installation package, and these software runs stably and has a beautiful interface. We recommend it to you here.
See my desktop. The five icons in the left Luancher are the five image processing tools I want to introduce today:
I. Tool gnome-screenshot
This software does not need to be installed by yourself. It is the software that comes with Gnome Desktop. Generally, it is automatically installed after the Linux system is installed. Its software name is gnome-screenshot, and its Chinese name is called, very direct. Although there are many other better software in Linux, I think the built-in system is enough. It is also easy to use.
You don't even need to run this tool. You only need to remember the following shortcut keys on Gnome Desktop:
1. printScreen key: press the "Print Screen" key in the upper-right corner of the keyboard to display the entire Screen. After a click, the dialog box for saving the image is displayed, which is very convenient.
2. Alt + PrintScreen: If you only need to perform the current window, press Alt + PrintScreen.
3. shift + PrintScreen: If you only want to operate on a certain area, press Shift + PrintScreen, and then the mouse pointer changes, hold down the left mouse button and drag it, you can select the range on the screen.
TIPS: when using shortcut keys, it is often difficult to cut down the content in pop-up interfaces such as menu items and drop-down boxes. To intercept the content, you cannot use the shortcut key above. You must open the software, set the delay for a few seconds, and then open the menu for operations. The set delay time is one, you can cut down the content in the menu and drop-down box.
Ii. Bitmap Processing Software GIMP
This software can be regarded as Photoshop in Linux and has powerful functions. It is precisely because of its powerful functions that it has to work hard to control. Since I used to have Photoshop basics, it is not difficult to get started with the software. The initial interface after the software is started may not meet everyone's habits, such:
But it doesn't matter. You can change it to the following interface through the Single Window mode option in the window menu:
GIMPBOX: GIMP (2.6.X) to obtain a stable single-window mode
Install the official version of GIMP 12.04 in Ubuntu 2.8
Ubuntu 2.8 wallpaper created by GIMP 12.04

3. Inkscape
Let's take a look at the Inkscape interface, which is very powerful:
Why am I going to introduce a bitmap processing software and then a vector graph rendering software? That's because Bitmap Processing and vector graph processing are still different. Example: for example, I often want to highlight a command or menu in my screenshots. At this time, I am used to draw a red box on the target to emphasize. It is very convenient to use Inkscape for such a simple thing as frame. In the vector graph painting software, the frame is a frame. After the frame is finished, the edge color and style of the frame can be changed, you can change its fill color and style. You can drag its position to change its size. However, in Bitmap Processing Software, you have to change the mode of thinking, in Bitmap Processing Software, to draw a box, you can only create a selection area of a rectangle, and then draw and fill the selection area. You can also feather the selection to get a vague box, once stroke and fill are completed, this box cannot be changed. Therefore, Inkscape is suitable for adding boxes and text, while GIMP is suitable for selection, non-rule area cropping, adding shadows and lighting.
4. A drawing software Dia that is more suitable for programmers
Dia features are also very powerful. Its biggest advantage is that it has many built-in image elements, which are very suitable for drawing flowcharts, UML diagrams, and other types. The interface is as follows:
The above several types of graphs are randomly painted. They reflect the effects of DIA and the background color has no special significance.
5. We recommend a UML modeling tool umbrello.
I have spent a lot of time looking for a good UML modeling tool. Good tools require money, such as Rose, Enterprise Architecture, Microsoft Visual Studio, etc, quality is always less satisfactory. After multiple tests, I finally chose umbrello. This is the built-in modeling software for KDE Desktop, but it can also run perfectly on Gnome Desktop. The interface is as follows:
Compared with DIA, it supports the forward and backward functions of UML. That is to say, it can generate code from the UML model, or generate a UML diagram from the code we have written. DIA is a pure drawing tool. a uml diagram is a graph. It cannot understand its meaning, not to generate code.
Well, I have written so much today. I hope you can Enjoy Linux.
