SCSI hard disk and ordinary IDE hard disk compared with a lot of advantages: fast interface, and because mainly for the server, so the performance of the hard disk itself is relatively high, hard disk speed, cache capacity, CPU occupancy is low, the scalability is much better than the IDE hard disk, and support hot Plug and unplug. At the same time its price is also high, because it is expensive, so on the ordinary PC rarely see its traces.

SATA (Serial ATA) port of the hard disk is called Serial drive, is the future trend of PC hard disk, has now basically replaced the traditional PATA hard disk. SATA is the full name of the Serial Advanced technology attachment,serial ATA serial connection, the Serial ATA bus using embedded clock signal, with a stronger error correction capability, The biggest difference from the past is that the transmission instruction (not just the data) can be checked, if the error is automatically corrected, which greatly improves the reliability of data transmission. 2: Hard disk partition:

Name of hard disk: First hard drive: SDA second hard drive: SDB in turn. A hard disk can only exist 4 primary partitions, named SDA1, Sda2, Sda3, SDA4, logical partition starting from 5, no more than one logical partition at the end of the 1, the logical partition has no number of restrictions. For example, WIN's C drive is a primary partition, and the rest of D, E, and F are logical partitions. Linux sda1 is the primary partition, which is equivalent to Sda5, Sda6. Each system is directed by the primary partition, which is the necessary program and parameters to guide the whole system. The operating system can be installed on the primary partition or logical partition, but the bootstrapper must be installed in the logical partition.

The Linux partition must be the root partition and the swap partition, the root partition holds the system's necessary files, mounts at the root directory (/), the swap partition is equivalent to Windows virtual memory, is a memory supplement, but also to understand when the swap is used, what advantages and disadvantages.

Partition: A hard disk must have a primary partition, and multiple logical partitions, but if you already have Windows installed on your computer, you can set the partition as a logical partition, which avoids conflicts with the original.

Swap size cannot exceed 2G, but can generally be larger than memory.
