Getting Started with Word animation Tutorial 55: Formatting page numbers

First, modify the page number format

1. To perform "insert" → "page number", in the page Number dialog box, click the Format button, open the Page Number Format dialog box, in the Number format Drop-down list box, you can choose the number format for inserting page numbers.

2. In "page numbering", if a document is divided into sections, to keep the page number of the entire document contiguous, select the "Continue before" radio box, and if you want the page number to start at a number, select the starting page number, and then enter the number of pages to start in the text box that follows.

3. Click the OK button to return to the page Number dialog box.

4. Click the OK button to close the page Number dialog box and insert the page number at the specified location.

Attention:

1. The settings for this example for page number formatting apply to documents that do not have a section or section but are consecutively numbered. If you need to do different page numbering for each part of the document, refer to the tutorial on "section break" and "header Footer" later.

2. Check the "include chapter number" checkbox to include the chapter number in the page numbering, which involves the use of sections and "Bullets and Numbering", which will be introduced in future tutorials.

Second, modify the page number font and font size

1. Perform "view" → "header Footer", enter the edit state of header and footer.

2. If page numbers are placed at the bottom of the page, click Toggle between Headers and footers on the Header and Footer toolbar, or drag the scroll bar to the footer position directly (note: The original document page number is inserted at the bottom of the page, and the alignment is right).

3. If the page number is inserted using the page Number command on the Insert menu, the page number is in a frame. Click the page number, a diagonal frame border around the page number, and move the mouse pointer over the border, and when the shape becomes a 10-headed arrow, hold down the left mouse button to change the position of the page number.

4. In the frame selected state or select the page number, you can set the font, size, color and so on.

Note: Select the frame and press the DELETE key to delete the frame and the page number in it.
