GGet: GNOME official download Tool

GNOME Desktop lacks an excellent download tool. Although there are many third-party download tools, it is not highly integrated with the desktop. In contrast, KDE Desktop KGet is a very good download tool.

Now, GNOME will also have a "customized" Download tool, which is GGet. GGet is one of the projects of GSoCGoogle Summer of Code. It aims to create an advanced download tool for GNOME Desktop.

At present, this project has made good progress. It may not be applied in GNOME 2.24, but it can be seen in GNOME 2.26.

At first glance, there are no special features, but as a project under development, we should give a lot of expectations. In the future, GGet will also enhance the D-Bus interface, which works with browser extensions to truly integrate with the desktop.
