WebLogic domain, Management Server, managed server, cluster and Machine Basics 1. Domain? What is it? – is a logically managed WebLogic server group that is managed as a whole? What's in the domain? – Server – Server cluster – machine? Rule: – All WebLogic server instances in the same domain must be in the same version. – Servers in a domain can be at different levels of maintenance packages as long as the Management Server is in the same maintenance pack level or higher than the managed server. 2. Server? What is it? –server is a weblogic that runs in a virtual machine. Server instance? What types of servers are available? – Management Server (Administration server) – Managed server (Managed server)? What is a property? – runs on a specified WLS machine – takes up independent memory – Multithreading 3. Management Server (Administration server)? – the central controller for the entire domain? – Deploy the management console – you can start and stop a server from a central location – you can migrate servers and services within a domain – can you deploy apps within a domain? Rules and Recommendations: – There is only one Management Server in a domain – in a production environment, we recommend that you do not deploy application systems or resources on the Management Server 4. Managed server (Managed server)? What is it? – A running instance that deploys the application needs of those applications – Each managed server is independent of the other managed servers within the domain (they are not in a cluster) – A domain can contain as many managed servers as needed 5. Machine A definition of a particular physical hardware. A machine definition is used to associate a computer with a managed server on it. The managed server used by the node manager to restart failed. Can support multiple WebLogic instances 6. Cluster (Cluster)? What is it? – A cluster is a logical server group? – High-availability Hi availability– load balancer balancing? Servers in a cluster can be deployed across machines (as in the WebLogic version)? The cluster is transparent to the client Summary: Is there only one adminserver in a domain? Can a domain contain one or more managed servers? A domain can contain one or more Cluster, manager servers that can be logically added to cluster? A domain can span managed in multiple Machine?cluster ServEr can be deployed across machine (same environment)? WebLogic start a new server in domain directory, start with start Startmanagedweblogic appdom
