Free DNS Service launched by Google
According to Google's official blog, Google launched a domain name resolution system named "Google public DNS", allowing users to use Google's server to resolve network domain names for free, to speed up Internet access, improve the browsing experience of network users and improve security and effectiveness.

DNS (Domain Name System) refers to the domain name resolution server. Its function on the Internet is to convert a domain name into an IP address that can be recognized by the network. When a user enters a website domain name in a browser, the user first accesses the DNS domain name resolution server set by the system (usually provided by ISP operators such as China Telecom and China Unicom ). If the server stores the IP information corresponding to the domain name, the system returns the information for the user to access the website. Otherwise, you will find the corresponding data of the domain name layer by layer from the superior DNS.

Currently, Internet users in China use default DNS servers, that is, the DNS service of telecom operators. This brings a huge risk of DNS hijacking. At present, domestic telecom operators generally use DNS hijacking to interfere with normal internet access. For example, when a user accesses a website that does not exist (or is blocked, telecom operators will hijack users to a page with full screen advertisements: China Telecom 114 internet star website, which not only has poor search quality, but also has a large number of advertisements, the security and browsing experience of users are greatly affected. Later, telecom operators became more and more courageous, and even Google's website Telecom dared to hijack, which further proved how bad the DNS service reliability of telecom operators was.

Therefore, I used to strongly recommend that Internet users use foreign DNS resolution servers, such as opendns's free DNS service. Their DNS services are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 to avoid being hijacked by China Telecom.

However, opendns has two disadvantages: one is that the opendns server is located in the United States, and the speed may slow down when there are more people using it. The other is that the IP address of opendns is not easy to remember, easy to forget.

Now, the gospel of Chinese netizens has finally arrived. Google has launched a public DNS system free of charge to the public. Google said the primary purpose of the Free DNS system is to improve the network browsing speed, to this end, Google has improved the DNS server technology by using pre-acquisition technology to improve performance and ensure the security and accuracy of DNS services.

It is very easy for common users to use Google DNS because Google selects two simple and easy-to-remember IP addresses for their DNS servers: "8.8.8.8.8" and "8.8.4.4 ". You only need to select the two addresses as the DNS server in the network settings of the system. The usage is very simple. For broadband dial-up users, find the broadband connection in "Settings"-"network connection", open the network connection properties, and select the interner protocol (TCPIP) in the properties page of, do not select to automatically obtain DNS, but select "Use the following DNS server address". The preferred DNS server and the backup DNS server are respectively set to 8.8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, after that, you can connect to the Internet again.

The public DNS service provided by Google is different from that provided by China Telecom or opendns. When a user inputs a wrong or nonexistent website, it is not like China Telecom's direct pop-up of a page with full screen ads. Google promises that it will never reset or filter the addresses accessed by users, and there will be no ads. For opendns users, Google has a strong technology and two IP addresses are well remembered and will not display advertisements. I believe many users of opendns will switch to Google DNS.

A list of domestic and foreign DNS server addresses is provided:
DNS (Domain Name System) refers to the domain name resolution server. Its function on the Internet is to convert a domain name into an IP address that can be recognized by the network. At present, domestic telecom carriers use DNS hijacking to interfere with normal internet access and prevent users from accessing common services such as Google, Gmail, Google Adsense, and Google Maps, yesterday I introduced how to use opendns to solve this problem. Because the opendns server is located in the United States, it may slow down if more people are using it, so today I will introduce some other foreign DNS server addresses for your selection.
Generally, DNS servers in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and other countries are faster. You can try a few more times and try to select the fastest DNS server you can access. China's telecom operators are hooligans, DNS server, easy to change early.
