Introduction: The US technology blog Silicon Alley insider recently wrote that with Google's recent release of Nexus One smartphones and Apple's acquisition of Quattro, a mobile advertising company, the confrontation between the two sides is becoming increasingly apparent, in addition, direct competition has been carried out in nine fields.

The full text is as follows:

1. Mobile Phone: Nexus One vs. iPhone (mobile Internet access)

Google just released the Nexus One proprietary mobile phone and mobile phone store this week, which will compete directly with Apple's iPhone, which is expected to release the latest version this summer.

2. mobile advertisement: AdMob vs. Quattro

Apple bought Quattro Wireless, a mobile advertising company, for $0.275 billion this week and will create its own mobile phone advertising business for iPhone and Apple tablet computers. Google also announced in last November that it would spend $0.75 billion to buy AdMob, a mobile advertising company.

The two sides will form direct competition in the mobile advertising field, unless they finally cooperate, provided by Apple and sold by Google.

3. mobile OS: Android vs. iPhone

Google's Android operating system is the biggest threat to Apple's iPhone. On the one hand lies in the software itself, and on the other hand, it is because Android adopts the Free Open Source mode. This allows Google to establish alliances with many vendors, including HTC, Motorola, LG, and Sony Ericsson, and to compete with Apple.

Android can also be used for tablets. Apple is expected to release its first tablet this month.

4. App Store: Android vs. iPhone

Both Google and Apple want to attract consumers to develop applications for their mobile platforms, and the two sides are not compatible with each other. Apple is currently in the leading position.

However, Google adopts a more open model and can be deployed in its app store without review. Apple's review mechanism is relatively strict. Apple recently rejected the entry of Google Latitude and Google Voice (Google Voice) applications into the App Store, and caused a direct conflict between the two sides. It also caused direct intervention by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), making the relationship between the two sides more tense.

5. Operating System: Chrome OS vs. Mac OS X

Mac OS X is one of Apple's most important assets. It is the software basis for Mac, iPhone, and iPod Touch, Apple's three major hardware products.

Today, Google is competing with Mac OS xbased on the Chrome OS Operating System. Although Chrome OS will initially be available for netbooks, Apple does not provide such products, so there will be no conflict. However, Chrome OS will eventually enter the laptop and desktop fields to compete directly with Apple Mac.

6. Web Browser: chrome vs. Safari

Google Chrome and Apple Safari are both developed based on the WebKit kernel. However, most users only choose one browser, which means that the two sides will also have a positive conflict in this field, especially Google has also released chrome for Mac.

Why does apple care about the browser users use? In addition to control the use of the outdoors, Apple also hopes to get a certain revenue share from Google when users use safari for Google search. If Mac users use Chrome, Apple will lose this revenue.

7. movie rental: Youtube vs. iTunes

Google needs to find a profit model for YouTube. To achieve this goal, the best way is to make full use of the potential of professional videos, and some original videos are usually difficult to generate too much revenue. Therefore, Google is also developing video rental services, which will directly compete with Apple's iTunes.

Potential outcome: Apple may be reluctant to integrate YouTube into its Apple TV set-top box, iPhone, iPod Touch, and iMovie software. Or Google may try to allow YouTube to work with the above products to earn revenue.

8. Office software: Docs vs. iwork

Google Docs is a network office suite. Its main competitor is Microsoft Office. However, Apple is also one of its competitors. Iwork also provides word processing, workbooks, and license plate software. Although this product is not important to Apple, software is the most profitable product for Apple. So Apple will not watch its users go to Google Docs.

9. Email: Gmail vs. mobileme

Apple mobileme provides users with services such as email, images, network storage space, and calendar synchronization. The annual fee is USD 100. Google Gmail, calendar, Picasa and other products provide the same functions for free.

Because Android phones have good support for Google's above services, if some users are too dependent on these services, they will consider buying Android phones and giving up the iPhone.
