Google search tips to know how to apply tips

Google or Yahoo search is a piece of cake. You just type a word and you'll see a lot of links to this page almost at the same time.

However, the search results usually differ from what you want. If the search term is ambiguous, there will be more unrelated links. If you type "chips", search engines simply don't know if you're looking for a computer chip (computer chips), a potato chip (potato chips) or a chocolate bean (chocolate chips). In fact, when I tried to use Google to search for "chips" a few days ago, the first search result was a TV show in the past called "Chips."

You don't need to be a search expert, and some simple tips will help you use search engines more efficiently. There are some tips to make your search technology more sophisticated, and some simple tips to make your search more specific--you can get answers, not just links. For example, most people do not know that Google and Yahoo (the largest and most popular search engines) can do math, calculate currency rates, find addresses by phone numbers, and so on.

The easiest way to get more accurate results is to type two or three words at a time--not a single word. The results are often more accurate because their relationships help narrow the scope. If you want to play golf in Scotland in the summer, just searching for "Scotland" is a waste of resources. Enter three words--"Scotland", "Golf" and "summer"--although it takes only a little more time to find the answer. Similarly, if you type "Chocolate bean" or "computer chip", then the TV show called "CHiPs" will not appear in the search results. (You don't have to type "and" between search terms, because Google generally ignores the word.) )

Another trick is to put quotes around the search term, especially if you're searching for an exact name or phrase--say, a song name made up of ordinary words. When Google or Yahoo (and most other search sites) see the quoted words, they are understood as an exact phrase that will only look up the whole situation in terms of the order in which you enter the vocabulary.

If you combine these techniques, it will work better. If you are searching for the lyrics of "I Want You" sung by Bob Dylan, the best way to do that is to enclose the song name in quotes and then enter Dylan and lyrics without quotes.

You can also use certain instructions to narrow your search by requiring Google to remove areas of the subject that might confuse search results. You just type in a space and a minus sign after the search term, and then enter the topic you want to exclude. For example, when I search for "chips", I simply type "Chips-tv", and I can completely exclude that TV program from the search results.

Alternatively, you can use the plus sign to focus your search on a topic area. "Washington +mountain" search results are very different from "Washington". (You'll get information about mountains in Washington state, not links from the University of Washington to Columbia, Dist. Of.) )。

Other ways to narrow your search can be found on Google and Yahoo's Advanced search page. They are actually some forms that allow you to customize your search in a variety of ways.

Both Google and Yahoo have a bunch of hidden search tips that will allow you to get information faster. These tips are not perfect, but you can often display the answers directly on the search results page without having to click on a link.

   Here are some examples:

-on Google and Yahoo, just type in the stock code, and you'll see the company name, the latest stock price and the stock trend chart on the top right of the search results page.

--on Google, type the address of a street in the United States, and the page will show a link to its location map. Yahoo is more than a chip, it directly shows the map on the search results page.

-on Google and Yahoo, you can find the names and addresses of all the phone numbers by typing a fixed phone number in the United States.

-On Yahoo, type the name of the city and the word "weather", the weather conditions in every city in the United States can be at a glance. On Google, you need to type "weather" first and then enter the city name.

On Yahoo, if you type in the name of a team and the word "score", you can get the latest score for the team to play.

-on Google, you can type some factual questions, such as "Boston Population" or "Tom Brady Birthplace," to get answers directly, not just links to answers.

-on Google and Yahoo, if you type simple math questions, like 5x8.1999, they'll show you the answer just like a calculator.

These two search engines can also be directly in the search box for the conversion of weights and measures and currency exchange rate calculation. On Google, you can just type in a question like "0.37 m in." or "7,000 yen to dollar (7,000 yen in US dollars)". On Yahoo, you need to enter the word "convert", such as "converting 7,000 yen to USD (convert 7,000 yen to dollars)".

You can also type a number on both search engines, such as tracking numbers, to get information directly. Type the license plate number to obtain the basic information about the vehicle and the offer to purchase more detailed information about the vehicle.
