"TechTarget China original" Over the past 20 years, I have helped thousands of people prepare for their IT certification exams. While there are many ways to gain experience through technology, building a hyper-V home lab is a cheap and effective way to leverage different applications to gain experience. There are several ways to solve Microsoft certification training: Take a training course with instructors, try computer-based training, or get the knowledge you need to read through a book and it vendor website. You can purchase it certification Practice test simulation questions, such as boson and transcender, through reputable companies. Be sure to avoid "test paper memories"--questions that illegally get an actual test--will violate the certificate's non-public agreement with the vendor, and if you get caught, it can lead to serious consequences. Experience tells me that most successful certification, the preparation process can not be separated from the following three elements: the understanding of the theory, put the theory into practice, review the real test case. In this article, I'll focus on how to get hands-on technical experience through Hyper-V home labs. While learning in time you are already working in the IT industry, it is impossible to do experiments on the environment online. You need to create a security sandbox to test and ensure that errors do not pose any harm. For Microsoft certification training, you can build an effective Hyper-V home lab without spending too much. All we need is a physical computer that runs Windows 8.1 and has enough hardware resources to configure it. The following specifications should meet the requirements: A processor that supports virtualization extensions, 8GB memory, at least 300GB of available hard disk space, and an Internet connection. I use Windows 8.1 because it is the first desktop operating system that contains client-side Hyper-V. Both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 include the Hyper-V Client virtualization management platform. Some people might think that Hyper-V is a proprietary technology for Windows Server, but I think Microsoft is binding it to desktop systems to support backward compatibility of old software and to provide developers with a better development environment. Visual Virtual Environment A Hyper-V Home Lab for certification practice must have at least one Windows Server virtual machine (VM), one Windows client virtual machine, one Linux virtual machine and one router.

It doesn't cost a penny to build these. Figure 1. The logical view of the IT certification practice lab based on the amount of memory in the host, you may need to limit the number of virtual machines running concurrently. If possible, make as many memory as possible to keep everything running smoothly. Building a virtualization host when you open a power-up Windows PowerShell, right-click the PowerShell icon and choose Run as Administrator on the shortcut menu-run the optionalfeatures command to open the Windows Features dialog box. Click the Hyper-V check box and the extension feature to mark the check marks next to Hyper-V Management tools and Hyper-V platform. After rebooting the system, you can continue to prepare the environment. Hyper-V configurations are far beyond the scope of this article. If you need more details, read the special considerations for how Microsoft creates virtual switches. Expand memory for best results This lab provides you with the various lab tasks you need, covering the Windows Server R2 and Windows 8.1 configuration exams. I strongly recommend that the host hardware configuration has at least 16G of memory, 32G is better. More memory that can run multiple Windows Server virtual machines at the same time, simulating more advanced configurations, such as: Exchange e-mail service Skype for Business Edition Active directory Rights Management Service SharePoint Server with clustered SQL Server back end When you build these complex infrastructures without encountering the headaches of system performance, you will certainly be able to apply the theoretical knowledge you have learned to the real thing. Looking for operating system software Microsoft TechNet Evaluation Center offers any Microsoft business software, unrestricted 180-day evaluation version. To establish a lab, you need to download the images for Windows Server R2, Windows 10, or Windows 8.1, depending on your certification goals. While optional, learning how to handle Linux is a growing demand skill. Go to Ubuntu website and download the latest Ubuntu desktop release ISO. Finally, our lab environment also requires a virtual router to emulate the real-world multi-subnet architecture. Vyos is a free Linux-based virtual router that has no graphical user interface, takes up less disk space, and can run many different types of IP routes.   Now that we have operating system iOS, we can start creating virtual machines and building IT certification labs. Deploying virtual machines this article from MicroSoft Developer Network, briefly describes how to use Hyper-V Manager to deploy virtual machines. One of the cool aspects of this is the use of Windows PowerShell scripts to make VMS deploy faster and more accurately. Figure 2. Configuring the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Lab Vyos user Guide contains the user's guidance for establishing a Vyos virtual router. You can learn how to complete the lab network with Figure 3. Figure 3. The virtual machine is interconnected with two private virtual switches named switch1net  and switch2net. The Vyos router also has two virtual network cards, which are connected to two switches respectively. Protecting these virtual machines you need to protect your lab environment by frequently creating snapshots and rolling back virtual machines. For example, suppose you need to deploy and configure active Directory Certificate Services on your network, but you do not want these to affect future lab environments. Simply create a snapshot for each virtual machine, leave it in the "before" state, and then roll back the virtual machine recovery environment. The network home labs needed to check for experiments have different shapes and sizes. You can see the detailed instructions in Figure 4 for details. Figure 4. The topology of the IT certification Practice Lab I assigned a static IPV4 address to the Windows Server virtual machine and assigned the "near end" virtual router address as the default gateway. I also installed DHCP acting on the "remote" subnet, providing the appropriate host and default gateway address. The router requires two virtual interfaces, each with its own corresponding IPV4 address.   Windows client virtual machine is configured to use DHCP. I configured the virtual router to forward BOOTP/DHCP broadcast traffic to achieve this function. Because the virtual machine does not need to communicate with the host server or the Internet, I defined the Hyper-V virtual Switch to allow only private communication. You may need to refine your memory allocation by running as many virtual machines as you need to run at the same time. The Vyos router does not need to configure more than 512MB of memory, and the Windows 8.1 client virtual machine only needs to allocate 1GB of memory to run well.
