How to configure RAID1 using LSI

X server has some models that integrate the lsi scsi controller. You can configure two Hard Disk Images by pressing ctrl c during self-check. However, after the BIOS is upgraded, some settings in ctrl c are changed, and the configuration method is somewhat different from the previous version.

Steps for configuring the new version:
1. Start the server, press ctrl c in the self-check process to enter the menu (dual-channel LSI Controller)
2. Select the SCSI channel where the hard disk is located and press Enter.
3. Select <RAID Properties> and press Enter.
4. Find two hard disks and select one as the primary Disk. In the <Array Disk?> Press the minus sign.
5. The system prompts you to press F3 to save disk data and press Delete to Delete disk data. If the Disk has an operating system, You must select F3. <Array Disk?> The following [No] is changed to [Yes].
6. On the second disk, press the minus sign for the [No] position:
7. The system warns that information on the disk will be lost. Press DELETE to DELETE all data on the disk or press any key to cancel the operation. Press DELETE. The second disk [No] will also change to [Yes]. restart the system and start Disk Synchronization.

Old Version
1) restart the host press the CTRL-C to ENTER the configuration menu, place the cursor on the first channel, and press <ENTER> continue
2) Select device properties to find the hard disk and press <Esc> to return to the previous menu.
3) select processing PROPERTIES and press <ENTER> continue
4) Select the first hard disk, the third column of the mirror pair item, and press-/+ to set it to PRIMARY.
5) Select the second hard disk, and set the mirror pair item in the third column to SECONDE by-/+.
6) Press ESC, select save change then exit this menu, and press <ENTER>
7) Press ESC, select "exit the configuration utitily", and press <ENTER> to continue

When RAID is used, at least you need to install the ServeRaid software. Generally, if you install the latest software, you will be OK. If you have a random configuration, you can download it from the IBM website.
In addition to showing you the current RAID information and whether there are bad disks, you can also give you a PFA warning in advance to determine whether the disks are still running stably.

The RAID method for the IBM x335/x336 server is as follows:

Array requirements: at least two hard disks, and the disk capacity and speed brands must be the same
1. First, check whether the CPU, memory, hard disk, and other hardware are normal (if you do not recognize it, check it correctly)
2. If the hardware is normal, we will start to create an array now.
When the server detects a problem, press 'ctrl + C' to go to the array main menu.

2. Select 'raid properties' as the upper and lower keys of the 'mainland' to ENTER

3. Move the options to the 'array disk' column (check whether the hard DISK is fully recognized)
If 'no' is in the 'array disk' column, select the plus or minus sign to convert 'no' to 'yes'

Note: When there are more than one array, you will be prompted to press 'delete' to create Array 4.
