Knowledge Point Analysis:
The newly installed Windows 7 has only a C disk by default, and you need to partition the unallocated disk space. This requires the use of disk management tools built into Windows 7.
Operation Steps:

Create a disk partition
Click the Start button and right-click the "Computer" option in the menu, and select "Manage" from the pop-up menu.

In the Computer Management window that pops up, expand the save item in the left navigation bar, and then click the Disk Management option to load the Disk Management tool in the right-hand pane.
Click unallocated space in Disk 0 (if the second hard drive is disk 1, and so on), right-click the "New simple Volume", and the New Simple Volume wizard dialog box appears as shown in the following illustration;
In the new Simple Volume Wizard Welcome screen click Next button to display a page setting the size of the partition;
Windows allows users to create partitions with a minimum space of 8MB and no upper space (if sufficient space is available), where the unit is megabytes (MB), and the user can allocate it based on the allocated space and individual needs of the disk.
After you set the partition size, click Next to display the assigned drive letter and Path page, and the user needs to set a letter or path.
There are three ways in which users can choose to distribute:
---If a user needs to create a new partition, you can either click the letter next to the Assign Drive letter option to replace it, or you can choose Default.
---If you need to mount a new partition in a disk or folder, click the mount the following blank NTFS folder option, and click the Browse button to select or create a blank folder to mount the partition.
---If the user does not want to assign a letter to the new partition, you can click the Do not assign drive letter or drive path option.
When you have set the partitioning method, clicking the Next button displays the formatted page for the partition, and the user needs to format the new partition.
To make a partition available, the user must format the partition, select the format this volume as follows option, and you can make a series of settings:
---file system: File system refers to the underlying file system format, the user can from the NTFS and FAT32 two, according to the default NTFS file system.
---allocation unit size: This option is used to set up allocation units. That is, set the "cluster" size, if the file will hold a large volume of files, the user can be appropriate to set this option larger, the appropriate settings can have better disk performance, if used to save small files, you can set this option smaller, The appropriate settings can save space. In general, you can use the default value.
---volume Label: The label refers to the name of the partition, such as the usual "local disk", "Regional disks", and so on, which users can set themselves.
---Perform a quick format: Check this option to quickly format the partition so that it can create a new file table without completely erasing the contents of the hard drive (no erasure is available for the newly purchased disk).
---Enable file and file compression: If the user chooses a file system that is "NTFS", check this option.
When you set the formatting options and click Next, the Finish page of the New Simple Volume wizard appears. The user-selected settings for creating partitions are shown here, as shown in the following illustration:
Click the Back button to return to the appropriate steps to reset it. After the confirmation is correct, the system creates partitions for the physical disk by clicking the Finish button. When the partition is created, the system automatically connects to the new partition, and it is possible to display a dialog box that the user can choose from or close the dialog box as needed.
Compress the total space of C disk
Loadtocnode (2, ' summary '); In some cases it may be necessary to adjust the total capacity of the C disk, for example in a newly purchased notebook with a Windows 7 operating system installed. If you have only one C-disk partition, and the partition is large, causing additional unallocated disk space to be reduced, you can resolve the problem by using the "compress" feature in the Disk Management tool.
Select the C-disk partition in the Disk Management interface and right-click to select the Compress volume option;
The disk utility automatically checks the selected partition for compressed space, the time spent with the computer's hardware performance and disk space;
The Compress dialog box is displayed after the check is complete, showing the total size of the current partition, the space available for compression, and the total size of the space to compress and the amount of compression to be entered;
By default, the Disk Management tool automatically fills in the input compressed space input box to fill in the maximum amount of space available for compression and can change it yourself. When you determine the amount of space to compress and then click the Compress button, the Disk Management tool compresses the partition.
Wait a moment to see the compressed partition and the unallocated space freed by the compressed partition, equal to the amount of compressed space that was set when the compression was compressed.
