MSSQL is a Microsoft company's database management system, this article will detail the MSSQL2000 database backup and restore functions.
1, first please ensure that your backup file is Bak file, and backup files can be normal restore.
2, open "Enterprise Manager" → "Database", select the database you want to restore, right "All Tasks" → "restore the database." As shown in figure:

3, if you need to restore the previously backed up files, directly in the "restore" select "Database", and then select the Backup to restore below, if it is from other places to upload or copy over, please select "from the device" restore. Click Add to add the backup file you want to restore. As shown in figure:

4, click OK, point Restore the database on the "Options" to view the path of the database after the recovery, sometimes may be restored failed, you can check "forced restore on the existing database", so, the process of database restore finished. As shown in figure:

5, if you already have MDF and LDF files, you can use the additional functions of the database to attach. First upload your database MDF and LDF files to a directory on the server (typically not on the system disk to avoid system corruption causing data loss), such as the D:\mssql directory, and give the directory Mssqluser Full Control. Then open Enterprise Manager, right click on "Database"-"All Tasks"-"additional database", as shown in figure:

Click "..." to add the MDF file you want to attach, and specify the database name and database owner to attach as shown in figure:

Click OK to confirm additional database success, as shown in figure:

Note that if you are in a different directory, it is important to ensure that the directory is preceded by Mssqluser Full Control, otherwise the restore or backup fails. Save the backup directory must also have this permission!!
