Synology NAS storage to create storage space
Preface: We have previously installed DSM and logged in to NAS via browser
The first thing we're going to do is create a space to hold the data, which is important because it's a must. The data you want to store is in the space created now.
One: Log in to the NAS admin interface, as shown in Figure 1 below:
Figure 1
Two: Click on the position shown in Figure 2 to start today's topic as instructed.
Figure 2
Three: After clicking, it pops up as shown in Figure 3 below:
Figure 3
Four: the mouse encounters "Storage space Administrator", left-click, pop-up as shown in Figure 4 below (the figure shown has created 2 space 1 and Space 2, you first open here is no storage space):
Figure 4
Five: Left click on "New" pop-up as shown in Figure 5 below:
Figure 5
VI: In this interface you can choose to customize, select Custom requirements users know the RAID-related technology, ordinary users recommend, select the default "Fast", left-click "Next" to go into Figure 6 shows:
Figure 6
Seven: one-touch "next" will give a hint that the data of your selected hard disk will be deleted, because this is the new hard disk we click "Yes" directly, if not a new hard drive, to ensure that the above data you have made a backup. Data loss due to misoperation, I am sorry I will not be responsible for this, so be sure to think twice.
Figure 7
Eight: Confirm "yes" and proceed to the next step. As shown in Figure 8: Ask you whether the disk bad track detection, the new hard drive is usually to quickly build storage space, I generally choose "No", if it is from other places under the old hard drive, suggest or detect a better. But this time will be longer, the length of time and your hard disk size has a certain relationship.
Figure 8
Nine: When you confirm "next" above, go to Figure 9:
Figure 9
X: Once again confirm, the type of hard disk we choose is the default RAID type, no disk detection, the selected hard disk is 3. After confirming the correctness, click "Apply", and then go to Figure 10:

When the space is "new" to these systems, the creation of the storage space is complete. Finally, we must remind you that the selected hard disk does not have the data you want (the new hard disk does not exist this problem) and the hard drive is the right choice. If you find that wrong, halfway to forcibly shut down the machine (method is: Always press the boot until you hear a "beep" and then let Go).
