1. Gtalk settings

1. For Linux
Google Talk is developed based on open protocols. The client version for Linux is not officially provided. We can use a third-party tool to log on to Gtalk. This article takes the Linux im platform Gaim as an example, describes how to use Gtalk in specific settings.
First, open GAIM and add an account. Set it as follows:
1) Select "jabber" in the Protocol drop-down box"
2) enter the prefix of your Gmail account, that is, the part before @ gmail.com. Do not enter the complete Gmail address.
3) change the default server address jabber.org to gmail.com.
4) Click "show main options"
5) Select "TLS if available" in the jabber option"
6) set the port to 5222
7) set the connection server address to talk.google.com.
8) Select "use Global Proxy Settings" for the proxy type"
2. for Windows
Download the Google Talk tool and install it.

Chat with MSN, Yahoo, ICQ/aim and QQ friends in Gtalk:
The PSI tool is available for Linux, windows, and Chinese.
For Windows
1. Set Chinese
Put the downloaded Chinese Language package psi_zh.qm in C: \ Program Files \ psi. After PSI is started, the Chinese language is displayed.
2. Set Account attributes
If this is the first login, an account attribute dialog box will automatically pop up. If this is not set for the first time, click the button at the bottom left of the second startup of the PSI service and select "user settings ", click Add ".
1) enter a name in the name column.
2) Account
Jabber ID: enter your Gmail address
Password: Password of your mailbox
Select all the options in the settings
3) Connection
Select all options in "advanced", enter talk.google.com after "host", and enter 5223 after "Port ".
4) Others
Enter PSI after "resource" and 5 after "Priority"
5) Save

3. Set the Jabber server
Click the lower left corner of PSI and select "Search for service". In the "Address" column, enter jabbernet. dk. You do not need to select the "Node" next to it.

4. Implement MSN and QQ functions in Gtalk
Here we use MSN as an example:
In the search service dialog box, right-click "MSN" and select "register". In the dialog box that appears, enter your own MSN username and password, and click "register, exit PSI, start Gtalk, and then you will receive a message from all MSN friends who want to add themselves as friends. Select "yes" for all, so that all MSN friends will be added to Gtalk, then you can use Gtalk to chat with friends of MSN.
5. Use the Gtalk search function
Enter "MSN" in the search address bar to display all MSN friends.
For Linux
1. Installation

Apt-Get install PSI
2) Gentoo
2. Set Chinese Characters
Put the downloaded Chinese Language package psi_zh.qm in $ home/. Psi. After the language package is started, the Chinese language is displayed.
