Method One :

The following is the problem of network connection, in order to make like Ubuntu in the taskbar inside the network connection icon, need to install NM support, namely:

Apt-get install Network-manager.

However, although the connection icon appears, but the option is gray, you will still see the network device is not managed by the prompt, this is due to the two network management scenarios in Linux conflict caused: Document point this solution is:

Change the Managed=false in/etc/networkmanager/nm-system-settings.conf to =true and then restart:

/etc/init.d/networking restart can be.

However, we can still find that the problem remains, that is, in the Network drop-down list does not appear in Ubuntu we are familiar with the auto eth0, but many ifupdown permanent wired connection, and can not be edited, the solution is as follows:

Modify the/etc/dbus-1/system.d/networkmanager.conf and/etc/dbus-1/system.d/nm-applet.conf to show them as:

<policy context=default>

<deny own= "Org.freedesktop.NetworkManager"/>

<deny send_destination= "Org.freedesktop.NetworkManager"/>

<deny send_interface= "Org.freedesktop.NetworkManager"/>

</policy>

Change the deny to allow and then restart Dbus:

/etc/init.d/dbus restart

Stop NetworkManager:

/etc/init.d/network-manager stop

Delete interfaces:

Rm/etc/network/interfaces

Restart NetworkManager:

/etc/init.d/network-manager start

Can.

By default Virtual machine is taking a your wireless connection as a wired connection because you bridge your physical Mac Hine network adapter with wireless network adapter. So's this situation you need to be configure it.

On Backtrack:-

Open the terminal or enter the command iwconfig or ifconfig to find out the name of the wireless interface.

Now go to Application > Internet > Select the Wicd Network Manager

Now go to Preferences > Select general Settings > in wireless interface enter your wireless Interf Ace name and click on OK.

Now it'll show you all available wireless network.

Click on the Connect and enter your credentials. Now is able to connect with your available wireless network.

On Kali:-

By default WICD Network Manager was not installed in Kali. Need to install with

[Email protected]:~#apt-get Install WICD-GTK
