Earlier this week, I gave a speech at the ASP. net connections conference in Las Vegas. This is a two-year conference, held in Las Vegas in the fall, and in Orlando in the spring. In the last week, more than 1500 people participated in the ASP. NET connections conference, and more than 4700 people participated in all devconnections. In addition to ASP. NET connections, the Vs, SQL, Sharepoint, mobile, and office connections conferences are also held in the same location. Participants are allowed to attend any lectures.

On the opening night of the Conference, I gave a comprehensive keynote speech to all the participants. Afterwards, I also gave three lectures on ASP. NET:

ASP. NET Ajax keynote speech

This lecture was held (kick off) for the first whole day of the Conference. We made a summary of our ASP. NET Ajax 1.0 plan and several Ajax demos from the beginning. You can download related handouts and Demo code here.

In this speech, Ben Noonan from Burton came to the stage to demonstrate some very cool ASP. NET Ajax cases they implemented on Burton's public website. Ben demonstrated to the participants that they used ASP. some methods of net Ajax also emphasize some of the good business results they see, whether it is in the increase in the average time a user spends on their website, it also brings about an increase in sales and revenue.

One of the interesting things we made for the Conference was to create a Burton ASP. NET Ajax snowboard (look at the picture on the right ). Both Bill Gates and Jack Burton agreed to sign the signature. Yesterday, we gave it to a lucky Participant through a lucky draw.

ASP. NET skills and tips

This lecture discusses ASP. net ui, caching and deployment skills, and Visual Studio 2005 skills and know-how. You can download related handouts and Demo code here.

To learn more about how to optimize the build performance of Visual Studio, read this post I wrote earlier. You can also browse my previous posts archived under the "tips and tricks" tab, from which you can find many posts about ASP. NET and Visual Studio skills and tricks.

ASP. NET and LINQ

This lecture provides an overview of the new LINQ technology to be released next year, and demonstrates the significant improvement in ASP. NET productivity. Click here to download related handouts and Demo code.

You can read some of my previous post on LINQ to learn more about LINQ and how to use it in ASP. NET. Below are some posts worth reading:

    • Building and using a LINQ for SQL class library with ASP. NET 2.0
    • Building a photo tagging application using ASP. NET 2.0, LINQ, and Atlas
    • Use LINQ in ASP. NET)
    • Using dlinq with ASP. NET
    • Dlinq with Stored Procedures
    • Understanding LINQ to SQL query translations

As I have said before, I think LINQ is one of the coolest new. NET technologies. It is definitely worth reviewing and experimenting.

My scheduled speech schedule

In fact, I have finished my speech this year and it is much easier because I have been in Amsterdam, Helsinki, nice, Dublin, Auckland, Sydney, Boston, Orlando this year, dallas and Las Vegas (2 times) participated. I hope to stay in the sunny Seattle in the next two months and do my daily work.

The speech agenda for next year has not been finalized yet. I will give a lecture on the codemash Conference held in Ohio in middle January and ASP in Orlando in spring in March. the net connections conference may go to the sdwest Conference held in San Francisco on April 9, (which has not been finalized yet). It will certainly go to the Microsoft mix07 conference from April 1 to April 2.

After March, I have no plans yet. Although I will probably give a speech at teched (USA) Again, it is possible to squeeze out time to go to Europe, and next year it is very likely that the first line will be India and Japan.

Hope to see you soon,

Scott

Note: You sometimes ask me if they can reuse some of my handouts and demos in their own lectures.Code. The answer is, absolutely! Please use all the content on my blog or in my lecture. You do not need to ask for permission or indicate the source. I posted this content to allow as many people as possible to learn from it. Therefore, it is exactly what I want to share this knowledge with others.
