The current hard disk is mainly divided into the following: Ide,scsi, sata, sas. where SAS (serial Attached SCSI) is a serial attached SCSI, a new generation of SCSI technology.
The following are the names of the Linux common devices:
The naming convention for the IDE disk is this: There are two IDE interfaces on one motherboard, one IDE interface can connect two IDE disks, the first disk connecting first interface is master disk, the second is slave disk, named Hda and HDB respectively, two disks of the second interface are HDC and HDD respectively. SATA and SCSI disks are not divided between master and slave.
The following is the Linux partitioning rule:/dev/sda1,/dev/sda2,/dev/sda3,/dev/sda4,/dev/sdb1, where the number of disks represented by the a,b in sda1, 1, and 2 represents the first partition. A hard disk has a maximum of four primary partitions, which are structured as follows: Mbr| primary partition 1| primary partition 2| primary partition 3| Primary partition 4 (extended partition) |, where the extended partition can be divided into: | Logical partition 1| logical partition 2|......| Logical partition n|, the partition number of the primary partition (primary) is the first four, and the partition number of the logical partition under the extended partition (Extended) is all starting from the fifth (whether the primary partition is built one or 3).
