CNET technology news network September 2 Beijing (Wen/Liang Qin): economists and social scientists hit the Earth with fire. The Development and Growth of China's Internet has led to a big debate on whether China's Internet industry has become a pillar industry.

The number of Internet users reaches 0.1 billion, and the total economic volume of Internet-related industries reaches 5% of the total GDP ...... China's Internet industry has never grown as it is now.

Yesterday afternoon, a big debate on whether China's Internet industry has become a pillar industry, in the interactive forum "looking for a definite future in uncertainty" at the 2005 China Internet conference.

Lu benfu, vice president of the school of management of the Graduate School of the Chinese Emy of sciences, came up with the theory of economics as the basis of the first speaker.

He believes that China's Internet economy has reached a peak, and now it is growing faster than China's, with GDP growing between 8% and 9%, search, text messages, and games on the Internet basically grow by more than. That is to say, the Internet economy is growing at about 10 times faster than the Chinese economy.

Lu benfu went on to talk about the second aspect. Judging from the total amount of Internet economy, China's total GDP is about 10 trillion yuan. At present, the total amount of Internet economy, including e-commerce, games, voice IP addresses, search, and banking, is about 5% billion RMB, accounting for of China's total economic volume.

"When an industry reaches 5% of the total economic volume, it should be a pillar industry ." Lu benfu stressed that.

He believes that at present, the Internet industry is not related to mouse (Computer) and other industries. The scale is already similar to that of China's aviation industry, accounting for about 5% of the national economy, therefore, the Internet economy, which has been regarded as avant-garde and edge-oriented in the past, should now enter the mainstream. Moreover, the Internet industry has begun to segment quickly. Guo Liang, a researcher at the Chinese Emy of social sciences, believes that China's Internet industry is still in its initial development stage and has not yet become a pillar industry.

Guo Liang said that China's Internet is still in its infancy, and many friends may be angry, but this is the case. Although there are already 0.1 billion Internet users in China, a total of many, but only 8% of the total population in China, it is clear from this figure that the Chinese Internet is in its infancy. Although, in many big cities, the proportion of Internet users has reached 40% ~ 50%, but the proportion of these netizens is different from that of the normal population.

Guo Liang uses the search engine as an example. Although the next growth point should include the engine, a survey by the Chinese Emy of Social Sciences shows that about 40% of Internet users never use the search engine. That is to say, what do they do online and play games. Or Chat, no need to find information. From the perspective of internet behavior of netizens, this year, the top part is reading news, and the second is general browsing. The third, fourth, and fifth items are related to entertainment or music downloads. They are related to entertainment.

Based on the above point of view, Guo Liang believes that "this leads to an obvious point that we are still in the early stage of the Internet-we have said that the Internet is an information expressway many years ago, but in China, it is more called 'entertainment expressway '. It cannot be said that China's Internet industry has become a pillar industry and has reached a very advanced stage ."
