Help! How to extract data from files row by row

Help! How to extract data from files line by line-Linux general technology-Linux programming and kernel information. The following is a detailed description. I tried to extract data from the file row by row using the following script:
For I in 'cat file'
Do
Echo $ I
Echo "."
Done
If there is no space in a row in the file, the correct result is displayed.
However, if a row contains spaces, cat extracts data separated by spaces.
How can this problem be solved?
If cat doesn't work, is there any other way?
