A recent Aspect survey on Enterprise supervisors and unified communications shows that although most enterprises have a clear understanding of the benefits of Unified Communication, however, 45% of respondents said there is no plan to deploy unified communications.
According to the report, enterprises that are waiting and watching for Unified Communication have two reasons: First, the economic environment is sluggish and the ROI is hard to predict. Second, some enterprises are also intimidated by the high upfront investment in Unified Communication.
According to reports, 237 of the 56% enterprises surveyed in Europe have used 6 or more types of unified communication tools, including email, mobility, voice, conference, VoIP, instant messaging, file sharing, status information, and video communication. However, only 17% of enterprises integrate these tools into a unified communication platform, with a very small proportion. In addition, 38% of enterprises have integrated these functions. In general, enterprises with a complete Unified Communication System Platform account for a very small proportion.
Of course, different regions in Europe have different understandings of the cost of investment in the early stage of Unified Communication. in the Nordic region, 24% of respondents believe that the investment in the early stage of Unified Communication is too large. In Central Europe, this ratio is only 9%.
Experts advise that the first reason is "Force Majeure", which is expected to improve over time. The second reason is to unify the sales staff of communication service providers to eliminate enterprise concerns and guide them towards "soft" return on investment, not limited to some short-term "hard" benefits.
BKJIA reporter believes:Unified Communication undoubtedly gives people an extremely beautiful vision-unlimited communication at any time and place-this is what we have seen countless times in science fiction movies. However, when we go back to reality from our fantasies, we will find that technology gives us the opportunity to realize our dreams, and only money can give us the opportunity to implement technology. We hope that in the near future, we can purchase enterprise/home Unified Communication devices at will like buying mobile phones.
