Hostname settings in Linux

Source: Internet
Author: User

In Linux, the hostname setting is relatively simple, but it needs to be configured in several places.

Switch to the root user and edit the/etc/sysconfig/network file. For example, the content is as follows:

Networking = Yes
Hostname = myhostname

Next we can correct myhostname and change it to the desired hostname, for example, newhostname.

Next, modify the/etc/hosts file, which is the mapping configuration file of DNS and IP, and map the latest hostname with your 127.0.0.1 address, after restarting, you will find that your hostname has been successfully modified.
