Hotfix prompts for a pending installation instance, please reboot the machine

When installing SQL Server 2000 or SP3 patches, the installer prompts for a pending installation instance that requires the machine to be reset.

For example, "A previous program installation has created a pending file operation on the installation computer."

You must restart your computer before running Setup. "But the reality is: the restart of the operating system does not work, the operating system of the temp temporary directory is cleared, also does not work."

The workaround for this problem is as follows: Run regedit to open Registry Editor, Hkey_local_machinesystemcontrolset001controlsession Manager found PendingFileRenameOperations, remove the key value to close Registry Editor. You can reinstall the SQL Server 2000 or SP3 patch.
