Method 1: Setting in the Styles pane
To remove a horizontal line by clearing the header style, the steps are as follows.
(1) On the Start tab, in the Styles option group, click the Dialog Box Launcher button to open the Styles pane, as shown in Figure 1.

(2) Place the cursor in the header, and click Clear All in the Styles pane to delete the horizontal line in the header, as shown in Figure 2.

Method 2: Setting in the Font Options group
Place your cursor at the header, and in the font Options group on the Start tab, click the Clear Formatting button to completely remove the horizontal line in the header, as shown in Figure 3.

Method 3: Remove the header line with the border settings
Select the paragraph mark in the header, then, on the Start tab, in the Paragraph option group, click the Lower Triangular button to the right of the border button, and then execute the no-border command in the Drop-down list that opens, and you can completely remove the horizontal line in the header, as shown in Figure 4.
